Madame Web (2024)
The whole movie was the beginning.
The movies never really started. Badly written.
The movie was okay up until the train scene. Then it just stopped. Nothing was happening, they talked a lot about what will happen in the future but nothing happened in the present.
The cinematography and actors were okay. But it must be hard to make a movie when nothing is happening. There is a subplot of Emma Robert having being pregnant and having a baby. It brings nothing to the story at all. Not sure why it was there to beginning with.
The vilain had all his dialogues added on post production, perhaps to work on his accent (he's originally French)
Not worth to pay for this, just wait for it to come on streaming platform.
Scrapper (2023)
Better than expected.
I saw this for a secret screening so I had no idea what that movie was about.
The beginning was a bit slow as it's just follow a child living on her own. It then gets interesting when the father comes in.
It has a lot of cute moments as the dad tries to bond with his daughter that rejects him. He even helps her to steal a bike to be closer to her.
I'm glad the father was a normal guy and not an alcoholic or drugged man.
Pro:
The little girl acting was spot on! What a find! She was amazing on every scene and delivered her line with so much ease and emotion.
The rest of the cast was good too.
The cinematography was perfect for that movie.
Con:
The camera work. Especially in the begining, the director confused music videos and movie for a bit. But then while the movie went along, it stopped and went back to normal.
I was hoping a bit more tension (like the dad has to leave and it broke her but he changed his mind and stays with her.
Overall as I'm not usually into British movie this one was good to see, mainly due to the protagonist acting.
Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023)
I felt like watching a very long music video
The cinematography was well done. Nice colours throughout the film.
The story was very basic and full of usual cliche. Nothing new to be remembered.
What bother me in that film was the humour. The joke was so childish. Even the main character acted like a child most of the time. It was painful to watch.
The actress did a good job however ad she didn't have to make jokes.
In the first half of the film, the actress didn't like the main actor and I dont blame her for it.
As I'm from Western Europe, perhaps it's the difference in culture that makes me cringe every time they delivered their lines.
I forget about this movie as soon as I left the screen.

Lower your expectation
I was expecting a movie like 'everything everywhere' based on the trailer, but it's more like 'Bend it like Beckham'.
Pro: the cinematography was great. The acting was also solid. This is the first feature role from the main actress and she did a good job caring the movie. I was familiar with 'the sister' from 'umbrella academy.
Con: the script and storyline. There is nothing new there really. Also it was hard to show empathy toward the main character as she tries to stop her sister dating because there were not any reasons for her to do so and it was quite irritating to see her being so dramatic about it for 1h.
Also the movie is very women oriented where men are just a burden with no emotion.
