Beef (2023)
Can't get enough !! Hoping for season 2
I binged watched this show in one day. I'm so happy with all 10 episodes. I was hooked from episode one and wanted more when the last episode ended. Both Ali Wong and Steven Yeun give amazing performances and wow i was impressed with his singing. Didn't know he had it in him. I had known Ali Wong to be a comedian from her stand up comedy specials and if you have watched the walking dead then you are familiar with Steven Yeun. I loved him in the walking dead but I love him even more in this show ! I expected a good performance from him but was surprised by Ali Wong as I didn't know she was a actress. Both of the characters are so damaged from child hood trauma, I almost felt as if I was watching a twin flame relationship. The hold the characters had on one another was very magnetic and chaotic towards each other. In the end you are just wishing so hard they both get a happy ending. Both characters were born in the 80's there's mention of that in the last two episodes. Loved the dialogue in the last episodes felt as if I myself was going crazy with the characters. It really put you in their mind frame. Totally recommend Beef was entertaining all the way through. As Siskel and Ebert would say two thumbs up !
George & Tammy (2022)
Jessica Chastain performance is worth watching
For one I enjoy movies based on real life especially on musician. I had been anticipating the day this would air which was today Dec 4, I was surprised it was a mini series and not a movie by how this episode ended. It left me wanting more. The chemistry between the two actors was undeniable. Great acting by both Michael Shannon and of course Jessica Chastain, I watch everything she is in. He is also a great actor. The main actors character George is just a mess in this from the start, while Tammy's character is a upcoming singer trying to make it in country music married with children who idolizes George music with a note pad of every song he has sang. Without giving away to much George obviously try's to work his way into Tammy's life by agreeing to have her open for him, agreeing to sing a song her husband has written, giving away a tour bus and inviting himself over for dinner. Causing friction in her marriage, you can feel something is about to happen and it does. The episode ends with you wanting more of the storyline.
