The Following Events Are Based on a Pack of Lies (2023)
Disappointed
Really looked forward to this as some great actors involved, but...
Hackneyed dialogue and some of the other actors were either wooden or overdone.
Don't waste your time on this latest BBC dirge - Unless you have a bingo card of tick boxes containing every sad modern day trope to cross off or use it as a drinking game.
Line up the shots and you'll be drunk within the first half - 'strong confident woman of colour' - tick. Main character refers to himself as 'sad middle aged white man' in the first 20 minutes - tick. If I could have stomached anymore I'm sure they would have shoe horned in a stunning and brave 'woman' with male pattern baldness -but I switched off.
Archetypes (2022)
Soporific
I had to listen to all excruciating episodes of this podcast to provide copy for a local publication. I am not a royalist or a fan and had no preconceived impressions.
It appears that the malign motivation behind this series is to score points for all real and imagined slights of Markle's past. It was advertised as a chance to 'subvert the labels that hold women back' but failed to deliver on this. It was a clap back only.
Markle's overacted breathy and archyficial narration is seriously nauseating. One can imagine her lapping at a saucer of milk as each dig is delivered to past foes.
Boring, beige, empty and a waste of what could have been interesting guests.
