Christmas in Notting Hill (2023 TV Movie)

Fun but could've been better
10 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
They were cute together. Cute movie. I love how he tried to keep his identity a secret.

The drama in the first half about him not telling her who he was though, that should not have been a big deal. If I were in her shoes, I would have just laughed and would have felt so flattered that someone famous was interested in spending time with me. I would have not been mad at him. Just another example of a stupid Hallmark drama.

The main actors had good chemistry together.

Side note: I'm the same age as William Moseley and I had a crush on him back when he was Chronicles of Narnia and apparently he's still cute. I hope Hallmark puts him in more movies.

The sister drama was stupid too. I can get them having a difference of opinion. Why would the older one stomp out of the bar? Very childish. Made no sense.

The dialogue/script at times was lazy.

The brothers dating sisters story is a little backwoods. I mean I know it could happen, but there's just something a little weird about it.

The dad actor was real weird. Not his character but his acting.

I don't normally like when Hallmark just copies famous movies, but for some reason I like this one. Maybe it's because the couple was cute together and maybe because I really like Notting Hill. Who knows.

The third drama at the market when she sees the magazine... It's all just ridiculous. I don't know if it could have been made better or what but all the different little dramas were just stupid and could have been better written easily.

How he found the necklace was also incredibly stupid. It was right there in plain sight. And you're telling me she didn't see it herself?

The proposal was sweet.

It was weird that we don't really have resolution on her career options. Is she working around the world? Where is she working? Is she in England with him? I just didn't like the how they didn't wrap that up. He got what he wanted. He got to play again and win. But what about her?

Cute movie, even if the script was lame at times.

Holiday Road (2023 TV Movie)

Nice

Warning: Spoilers
Exciting & fun.

Loved all the different family dynamics and storylines. All the different endings were so heartwarming (and sad).

I enjoyed the serious drama of the medicine issue towards the end. I also loved the backstory of the main actress.

It was so happy and cute and well made.

A clever movie. Something different to watch.

I love how the Asian characters do not speak great English. A small detail that takes this hallmark movie from cutesy to smart.

The love story was minor which is fine, but it didn't really do anything for me there at the end. I almost feel like they could have done without it entirely.

Catch Me If You Claus (2023 TV Movie)

Fun watch
6 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The kissing scene in the car was pretty hot. And hilarious (the part with the guy in the back seat).

Interesting premise. Something different to watch. I love that it was kind of a mystery. This role was really good for Luke MacFarlane. Some of the roles he's played he doesn't do so well and but this one was perfect for him. Silly and cute.

It was a very fun, exciting movie that had a happy ending. Really well made. Movie. Well put together by everybody. Good acting. Top notch. And it was funny at times! Loved it.

It helps that Luke McFarlane is pretty cute.

One of my biggest complaints is that while the first kiss was hot, the second kiss was less than. Not that it had to be hot, but it wasn't natural. Could have been better. It was like they were just trying to wrap up the movie and get it done.

Navigating Christmas (2023 TV Movie)

This was tough to watch.
28 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I did not like this actress as a mom. Part of the problem is the script. At the beginning she suddenly yells at her teenager that it's a bed time? Like he's 2? Are you kidding me? Why don't you just bend him over your lap and spank him while you're at it?

She's not a good actress at all. Not very pleasant to watch. Problem could be the script again.

The meet cute was terrible.

I did like how neither of them seem to wanted to decorate for Christmas at first. While the Scrooge spirit is not appealing to me, it is realistic and a change of pace for Hallmark.

The kid's not a great actor either, but it's okay. He's young.

Stephen Huszar is not likable in this movie. I don't know what it is.

If the teenagers are going to be a secondary romance, they need to be better actors.

Same ole story. Yawn. Neither of them has enjoyed the holidays as much as this year with each other.

I can't decide if I like their first kiss or not. I kind of like how she came back for it, but it also seemed forced. Not well acted.

It was okay

Warning: Spoilers
Frederic Brossier is cute in a subtle way. I do love how a few of the actors, including him, are actually from Germany.

They have no chemistry though. He seems bored with her. And she looks at him like a brother, not a love interest. They were cute together at the end, but still no chemistry.

She's going to cover up his beautiful woodwork with broken glass? I hate it. It's at least a plot twist that I didn't expect so that's nice.

I do love how she gave the display set to the special client with the heartwarming story. That was very sweet. Almost made me cry.

The setting makes the movie both unrelatable but also exciting. A Christmas in Germany sounds very cozy.

Christmas Island (II) (2023 TV Movie)

Cute movie with a different storyline
26 November 2023
Fun different storyline. A female pilot getting stranded. It IS kind of like ALL the movies where cars are breaking down leaving passengers stranded while a cute mechanic fixes the car and waits for parts, but it's different enough.

I like how she knew how to fix his truck. Instead of him being the one to fix it.

The Sharp family. I love how there's a snobby uncomfortable rich family.

The dialogue is great. Well written script. Flows well. Very believable acting.

The main actor has fun with his acting. He's cute.

Rachel Skarsten is delightful to watch. She is a wonderful actress. She's great at portraying different emotions, the proper emotions for each scene. She's so cute.

The couple has cute chemistry. It's not sparks-a-flyin chemistry, but it's cute.

The cheesy music when they first kissed was too much. It should have just been a sweet simple kiss. The music sounds like it was the end of some epic love story, which it was not.

Everything Christmas (2023 TV Movie)

Bored, mostly.

Warning: Spoilers
Cindy Busby isn't great to watch. I don't know what it is, but I'm not loving her acting. She's too much. I'm not sure if they made her character purposefully obnoxious or she's just that way herself. I wasn't even sad for her when her ornament broke which was totally predictable by the way. She's just not likeable at all.

Corey Sevier isn't great to watch either. I'm very underwhelmed by his acting. He adds nothing to the movie whatsoever.

Cindy and Corey's interactions with each other were really obnoxious to watch, too. No chemistry. The romantic storyline did not pull me in at all.

I like Katherine Barrell though. She was good. Cute.

The Kris Kringle actor was good too. Just the right touch of magical personality without being too cheesy.

The movie overall was super cheesy though.

Mystery on Mistletoe Lane (2023 TV Movie)
10/10
My favorite so far this Christmas
25 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Victor Webster is always lovely to watch. He's a super cute gentleman. I love how he kisses her hand when they're sitting under the mistletoe at the beginning. He's really good at being romantic. Just so dreamy.

The mystery in this one is fun. I enjoyed the scavenger hunt. The kids did a good job with their roles.

Of course, the Movies and Mysteries movies are always great. I love the sad history interwoven into it. Gives it good depth.

One tiny bit of constructive criticism - the actors could have had better facial expressions/reactions when Wallace explains that the prior owner of the house was his father. Their faces were just kind of bored with that information. It was the big dun dun dun moment, but they're faces didn't express that.

Overall, a classy movie. I loved it.

Great acting all around. Victor Webster, Erica Cerra, Fred Henderson... Great job!

Terrible
24 November 2023
Hunter King is super obnoxious and not a very good actress.

Amy Groening is pretty cute to watch.

Way too much conversation in the meet cute. It was weird. Hated it. Way too long of a conversation. And not realistic for them to have this long of a conversation with their beards on. I feel like I barely know the characters and they're just diving into the deep end. It's unrealistic and almost made me turn the movie off. The entire conversation was so cringy.

So the first date of sorts is while they're drunk? I mean it's super realistic, but not romantic at all. Ugh. Oh wait, they're not drunk. It's just that terrible of a scene.

The acting overall is subpar.

They really put a lot of work at the finding the girl for whom I don't really see the appeal.

And why would you pull down a beard of a perfect stranger if you never saw the girl you're looking for without the beard? How is that going to help?

I tried, but I couldn't finish this movie. I had to turn it off. So terrible.

Fun and different Hallmark movie. Loved it.
21 November 2023
Funny!

Very interesting plot. Different from any other Hallmark I think I've ever seen.

I love Tyler Hynes. He's just so smooth and relaxed. Super cute. Love how he flirts in this one.

I love how different this movie is! Great job Hallmark! It's all about the friend dynamic more than romance. And yes there's romance, but it's secondary.

I love the weird dynamic between the three main characters. It's different and juicy. Best friends like the same guy. One or all is bound to be disappointed. Great premise.

This is super cute movie. I loved the energy. Kind of weird romantic subplot, but that's ok.

Flipping for Christmas (2023 TV Movie)
7/10
Another forgettable Hallmark film
20 November 2023
Marcus Rosner is always cute. Very handsome.

Scott Yamamura is a good actor.

There's absolutely no transition from the bickering and disagreeing between them to the flirting. Like, what the heck happened? They can't just suddenly become different characters. There has to be some sort of getting there. Did not enjoy their story.

They have a paint fight AND a snowball fight? That's too much. Whoever wrote this should have been a little more creative with the flirting.

Ashley Newbrough does a good job portraying grief at the Christmas tree when she writes Mom on the ornament.

The main actors' attempt at chemistry is over the top and obnoxious. It would have been better if they were a little bit more natural about it

The father's advice conversation was kind of weird and all over the place. Wasn't into it. It could have easily been better written.

The scene in the back of the truck with three pillows was too over the top. Looks like he's about to freaking propose to her. But he just happened to whip that together for a business dinner? Get out of here.

Some hallmark movies have gotten better about having drama and misunderstandings that are a bit more believable. This one is one of the ones that still struggles to have a fight between the characters that is believable. She told him it was a innocent thing she did and he gets all bent out of shape. It's just too much. The fights need to be a bit more believable.

I love how this sister is folding laundry in a scene. That is just so real and relatable. Often these houses are just so spic and span and look like they're not lived in. So that was a nice small touch.

Overall, meh.

Not bad
20 November 2023
Not sure if the main actor is new, but he could use practice. Isn't very good at expressing emotion when talking about his deceased wife. He is pretty cute though. I don't necessarily mean his looks but his demeanor. He's very likable.

Both main actors were cute, but they didn't seem to be a spark between them. Maybe there was more so on his side. But she didn't always respond to him very well. She seemed kind of bored by him at times, even towards the end.

The actors did a good job with the conversation in the dad's truck.

I enjoyed the tense family conversation around the table when they were playing Jenga. Sometimes the drama in these Hallmark movies is just ridiculous. But this seemed more realistic and believable.

Not great
17 November 2023
Great actors, but didn't love this movie. Can't place my finger on why. Not sure if it's because the actors weren't the best for these roles or they didn't have good chemistry or what. I couldn't really relate to the characters, and I'm an introvert. I feel like these characters were messed up enough that there should have been more backstory to explain their quirkiness.

The main actor kind of gives a creepy vibe at times.

Confusing story.

I don't know if it was the storyline or the acting or what but the whole thing was just not very believable. It just seems to have a lot of holes or something.

Where Are You, Christmas? (2023 TV Movie)
8/10
Pleasing but could've been better
15 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Weird meet cute of the main two characters. There are some sort of magical background music when he looked at her. Not sure what that was about.

A little weird overall, but fun. The storyline had such great potential. Wasn't executed as well as I would've liked, but pretty good overall. Love the premise and what people are supposed to do to remember Christmas. It's the memories and relationships, not all the things. It's a great message for viewers.

The script wasn't written very well. Some things didn't flow very well.

Michael Rady was not a good choice for his character. He's better at being upbeat and jolly, not so much at being sad and a loner. Watching him portray this role, it's like he's bored with his character or just not into it. He did portray his hurt feelings at the end well.

Absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters. Way too forced. The main female was awkward. I almost feel like this movie could have been better done as just a happy family Christmas movie and not a romance movie. Maybe with just some small flirtations at the end would have been better.

The father played his character really well. Loved it.

The mother was adorable and funny. Absolutely loved her. She even made me happy cry laugh at one part.

The brother's proposal was awkward. I know he's not the main character, but his relationship with his girlfriend really didn't add anything to the movie. They didn't really seem like they were in love at all. But then again, maybe that's more realistic anyway. Ha. It also makes absolutely no sense how his girlfriend remembered Christmas. The boyfriend didn't do anything to jog her memory. Too easy.

The way the father remembers Christmas wasn't very satisfying. I was really hoping it would have something to do with his daughter and their relationship and maybe some sort of Christmas memory between the two of them seeing as though they were the last two that were black and white and they had this tension the whole time.

Plotline hole I think- the main male character says his pops took him in when his parents died, and the main female supposedly grew up in that town, and it's a tiny town, but they've never met before? Bad writing/editing. They for sure would have known each other.

The main female character did portray her character pretty well for the most part though, minus the romance part.

So terrible
13 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Didn't feel very Christmasy. I'm all for different storylines, but this one felt weird.

Main actress was hard to watch. Really hard to watch. She displayed the wrong emotions at the wrong times which makes her very unlikable as a character.

No chemistry between the couple. The first kiss in his office was terrible. Very forced and unnatural. Made me uncomfortable.

No enjoyment watching this one.

I did like the actors who played the brother and father. They were good. There was more chemistry between the brother and the redhead.

The background music seemed like it was trying to make up for the terrible acting but it was honestly a little distracting.
