Totally Killer (2023)
Impressive and promising!
I'm a huge fan of slashers, since scream they haven't managed to do that good in this area. However, when I saw the trailers and the lead actress I got totally hooked, like instant haha.
Anyways, talking about the movie itself, it's really good. We got a "famous" killer in a small city, victims whose where dramatically killed, and etc. The whole cake recipe, but what changes is the concept of time travel. Ok, I know, we've seen this movie (AKA Happy Death Day), but it's not like that. They did a pretty good job and explaining the time travel thing without making in it complicated in a way it works for the movie.
I know the movie has it flaws, like some character development, a genius teenager who's building a Time Machine for a science school something which is being held in a creepy abandoned amusement park. BUT, and that's a big BUT, it is used to build the movie narrative, and it's like poetic haha.
There's kinda a lack of blood in my opinion, but it works the way it did.
So, even the flaws work for the movie thing.
Y'all should watch it, is good. You got entertained.
A Moment in the Reeds (2017)
It surprised me
The moment I starting watching I fell in love with the picture of this movies, it's nice and pleasing, the director did a great job using the light and the scenarios around it.
The movie doesn't move around in many perspectives, and there's only one scene that wasn't necessary for the storyline, and the absence of the father during some days (in the movie).
The movie has a great story and it's well written, it wasn't easy to find flaws in it. However, the problem moving around the main characters in a fight was kinda silly and didn't justify the reaction of one of the main characters.
At the end of the movie we got a very interesting scene, and a predictable ending, but I liked it (I'm a fan of tragedies).
Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
They made it better and kept the book essence
I know many people are going to watch this movie because of the book, and as a reader I was afraid of this adaptation. However, they did an amazing job! They kept the essence of the book and left out some things that made the story less believable and added more sense to it.
Now, the story is more based and less fan fictional as the book is.
I also need to say that even though they had to cut many things, and changed some dialogues, it was done for the best.
I understand some of us who read the book might feel sad about it, but I see it it was for the best some changes.
Now, talking about the director, he did incredible, I thought the parts with the text messages were going to be boring, and too much to read, but man he made some real change, who surprised me. And putting an "antagonist" was genius.
Y'all are going to love it!
