Float (2023)
We have to respect and appreciate someone else's effort and creativity
I've read a lot of reviews calling this movie gimmicry or corny, which makes sense given that Blake, the main cast member, is Caucasian, and Waverly, an Asian. Most people would probably say that the two just don't click, that there's no chemistry between them, and let's face it, it really shows how shocked you are to see a White man with an Asian woman. I'm curious as to how it'll be if ANYONE BUT YOU rom-com movie's female lead actress is an Asian. In any case, I think it's a nice romantic film that has a relatable plot and is both enjoyable and thought-provoking. Overall, lets say I enjoy it.
Edge of the World (2021)
Do not ever disrespect someone's work of art. This movie is good
It's not easy to make a movie based on a true story, especially when even possibly the research was merely enough to table the basic idea and understand how the story should be directed. As well the interest and expectation of everyone. The line of cast, costumes, location, scenes, music, the dialogue are good (please, why should anyone condemn or give a negative review, you don't even direct or make any tiktok or Youtube channel anywhere near a short film). It's about the effort of making a movie, an entertainment based on history and to share with the audience what it would look like back in the day during the 18th century. I must say kudos to the director Michael Haussman, Jonathan Rhys Meyes, Dominic Managhan, Otto Farrant (or best known as Alex Rider), the surprisingly good performance by Atiqah Hasiholan and the villant Bront Palarae, as well all the other supporting actors and actress, crews and the researchers who made this movie. It's a new beginning, I must say, and please watch it. It may be slow but suspense too.
