Wolf Pack: From a Spark to a Flame (2023)
Good, But Not Fantastic
I had been looking forward to this show for months, and my expectations were positively met! Although not as great as it could be, episode 1 sets up what could be a fantastic show!
Right off the bat, I loved the action sequence at the beginning of the show! Yes, the CGI wasn't that great, but everything else, especially the action sequences, I loved! What I loved more about the opening scene was Harlan's introduction at the club. Absolutely stunning visuals!
Things I didn't like or could be improved: some of the dialogue felt unrealistic, especially the scene between Blake and her father in their van. To me, a lot of Blake's lines seemed unrealistic for a teenager to say. A lot of Everett's dialogue also seemed unrealistic for a teenager. Some parts of the episode also felt slow to me, but this is only episode 1 which is the set-up.
Overall, a decent episode that I would rate 6.75/10 if I could. I can't wait to watch the next episodes!
Wolf Pack: Two Bitten, Two Born (2023)
Better than the first episode
Episode 2 was a slight but necessary step up from episode 1. It gave more insight into the backstory of Luna and Harlan, and ended with a bang!
I loved the opening sequence of this episode. The cinematography and lighting was on-point. The production was overall well done, despite some questionable (but not terrible) CGI. I also loved the introduction of Everett's friend, Connor, and the interactions between Everett and his parents! The climax at the end reminded me of the action sequences seen in Stranger Things season 1 and 2 which I also enjoyed.
I wish that the show was a bit more fast-paced and revealed more plot points, but this is only episode 2. I felt like Kristyn Ramsay as a character did not aid the plot in any way this episode. She felt like an unnecessary character. However, I have heard that her character is closed off at the beginning for reasons to-be-revealed later, so my hopes aren't completely dashed there.
Wolf Pack: Origin Point (2023)
Best Episode Yet
Every episode of this show improves a little bit more compared to the previous ones!
Things I loved: The cinematography and quality were on point. The opening scene was breathtaking, and the storyline was more developed with the introduction of four well-rounded side characters. And the cliffhanger at the end! A big YES from me!
Things I didn't like: the whole 'bad cop' thing going on with the introduction of a police officer who is unprofessional and borderline abusive for no reason. He isn't a realistic character in my opinion.
Overall, a great episode. Not groundbreaking, but great nonetheless. And it sets up so many opportunities for a fantastic show in the following episodes!
