Family History (2020)
Fantastic short with great cast and clever, original story.
Absolutely recommend checking out Family History. I not only enjoyed the cast, but the production, writing and originality behind the genre was all great.
Portals (2019)
For fans of sci-fi and the horror genre
I was expecting a sci-fi anthology about portals, but what I wasn't expecting was also a lot of horror elements as well. Some cool practical effects, good production value and a cool anthology like a darker Twilight Zone or Black Mirror episode. I knew it was going to be smaller budget but really enjoyed it and the originality. People looking for something different and appreciate independent films should enjoy the different takes on Portals.
Bloody Hell (2020)
My favorite film of 2021!
Ben O'Toole is phenomenal, the writing is unpredictable and brilliant and the costars are great. Highly recommend. I watched this twice the same night I bought it.
When the Fever Breaks (2019)
Original and Unique Outbreak Movie!
The film started out quickly and didn't waste any time before getting into the action. It also took plenty of time to give depth to the characters while keeping the story exciting. I love how we also got characters with some different age ranges which also separated the film from others. I liked the back story of the characters and personalities to help you care about them. I also enjoyed the surprises and the production value and creature sounds were cool and creepy.
The Stalker (2020)
Good home invasion thriller with lots of cool twists!
I film was pretty well paced with a lot going on and a lot of cool twists. I thought the acting was pretty good and the production value and quality of the movie was great. There was also some well done fight stunt choreography. Score was also cool. Definitely recommend this. Excited to do what else this cast and crew do next and stay tuned for the cool after credits scene.
Occurrence at Mills Creek (2020)
Atmospheric, mysterious and Intriguing
I wasn't sure what to expect from the trailer but I knew I enjoyed the other short films by the same filmmaker so I was looking forward to it.
What I got from a full length film was a feature that was atmospheric, mysterious and intriguing with great performances and an interesting well thought out story. I also really liked the way the film was shot. Great job to everyone involved.
Erson (2018)
Cool unpredictable short film
Good short I really enjoyed. Highly recommend checking out more from this filmmaker. I really enjoy his work; super talented.
What Was Lost (2014)
Great short with emotional beats and unpredictable twists
Really enjoyed this a lot. Great short film. Some good acting from the leads and didn't ever know where it was going so was never predictable. I expect more great things from the filmmaker and cast. They were all good. Also enjoyed the score and music.
UFO Report (2020)
Intriguing UFO show for Believers and Non-believers
I checked out several episodes of UFO Report. Not only did I find them intriguing, unique and more believable than most other UFO shows like it, but I also really enjoyed the way the show was produced.
Each episode isn't overly lengthy and gets right into what the show is about; UFO sightings and how factual they might be.
Every show sets up a particular sighting pertaining to possible alien sightings and breakdowns how factual they might actually be. The sightings are given serious looks and things such as CGI, other objects it could be mistaken for and visual tricks are all considered to try to debunk just simply believing it's an actual UFO.
I highly recommend anyone checking this out, whether you believe in the UFO phenomenon or not. I think the show is a cool idea and is very easy to easily binge several episodes.
The Crumbs (2020)
A Blend of Horror and Mysterious, Interesting Characters
The Crumbs is a really unique horror/thriller with some really interesting villains and twists that stand out from the typical horror fare. The leads all give good good performances and have good motivations for their actions to make them all interesting. I also like the fact that there are some dramatic elements to it making it not just another horror/thriller but also mixes some of the drama genre in with it. It's well directed and shot with good quality. Looking forward to more projects from this cast and crew. Especially if you're looking for something different from this genre with more character depth, than you'll enjoy The Crumbs.
Noctambulist (2019)
Throwback to Silent Films in A Modern Way
Noctambulist is a film that not only serves as a silent film throwback to classic films, but it also serves it up in a way that's cool to modern audiences.
The director has found a way to not only pay tribute to those classic films, but also makes a very cool, mysterious and engaging story filled with twists that echoes classic Edgar Allen Poe tales. Highly recommend especially if you appreciate and respect these kinds of films and how they've changed filmmaking today. The set design and wardrobes are also commendable and impressive.
Job Guys (2020)
Fun, Funny, Engaging Entertainment!
Job Guys is everything a show or feature film should be. It's immediately engaging, the characters are fun, the production looks good and they keep the story moving in fun and interesting directions.
I rarely laugh out loud at anything and Job Guys had me doing that a few times. I sat down to watch a few episodes and had a hard time stopping to get work done; it's very engaging.
There's a couple unique things done with the cinematography as well I enjoyed. Job Guys works as both a season or sitting down for an entertaining feature film. I could easily see it returning as for a second season or as a stand alone film with returning characters.
Really looking forward to seeing what the creators, cast and crew do next. I was engaged most of the time and enjoyed some of the smart writing and cool ideas.
Zombthology (2008)
Zombie film is gory fun!
I had the opportunity to view Zombthology, a zombie film that brings us back to horror classics such as "Creepshow". The premise for the film revolves around Scream queen, Tiffany Shepis and how she is forced to watch four zombie films, each different in unique ways. Shepis delivers a solid performance, playing herself clearly having a lot of fun with the role. The zombie tales each are amusing in their own way. One tale in particular actually made my stomach churn from the very surreal gory effects, which is extremely rare for me. Zombthology is a blend of gore, comedy, scares and plenty of zombies. If you're a fan of Indy features give this one a chance. It has four tales intertwined with the main story of Shepis, making you wonder what kind of take the next tale will have on the zombie idea and what other genres it will pull from.
