The Color Purple (2023)
A FILM THAT WASNT NEEDED
Some Classics need to be left alone & The Color Purple is 1 of them. This movie is horrible. They should had kept it as a Play. Too much singing. More singing than development of characters. It takes away from the story alone. Suge & Cecily relationship was watered down. It just everything you DON'T want to see in a remake of a movie. The 1st film really showed intensity of each character no singing was required with the exception of Suge Avery classic songs in original. That's the only music that should had been in the film. I know this is suppose to be musical but it's a horrible musical. Again It was HORRIBLE. Save your money, it's a horrid remake.
9/11: One Day in America (2021)
The best 9/11 documentary ever!
I watched alot of 9/11 documentaries but this one, you feel like you was right there. You experiencing everything with no narration just words of the victims, victim's families & the survivors. I must say this documentary deserves an EGOT. A Emmy, Grammy (for the back track) Oscar & a Tony & I don't care if it wasn't a play it was real life which has precedent over a play. I definitely recommend you watch this documentary. It's riveting, emotional, heroism, selflessness, kindness, it displays all & more. If I can give this documentary 100 stars I would! I will never forget that day, I was in school, my teacher ran to turn on the tv. I see the 1st tower already been hit. I was 14 years old. As horrible as it was, me at 14 did not fully grasp the gravity of the situation.
I just though the plane had technical difficulties it was tragic terrible accident. UNTIL, I seen the second hit in REAL TIME. I went into shock. I uttered to the class, "ummm..that... that don't look like no accident." Still I'm in shock, but my teacher gently snap me out of it & said you will never forget this day. She was right. I never did forget that day.
