(Written after viewing S02E02.)
This show has done the impossible, it has gotten worse. It is a shame, the show had much promise. The premise of wildland fires and an inmate crew fighting alongside Cal Fire presented numerous exciting, suspense filled rescues. Now I understand this is not a documentary and there is going to be many unrealistic situations. However, this does not mean they should delve into unrealistic storylines.
The average age of a Captain is between 45 and 50 with 15+ years of experience and experience in various subordinate commands. Having two 30 somethings promoted to Captain, really? Need I mention demotions?
Stay away from traditional Hollywood cliches, tropes, and DEI casts and this would be a great show for many seasons.
