Good actors totally wasted in an under written and seemingly interminable movie.

Cosmos
(I) (2019)
Impressive Indie fare

With a crew of about a dozen people, these guys put together a good film. Acting was great all around, cinematography in cramped spaces worked, writing and reveals were well done. My only complaint is that the editing could have been tighter and would have helped the first half of the film. Kudos to the filmmakers and well worth a watch!
Let the Right One In
(2008)
Close to perfection

This film is by far the best thing that I have seen all year (I've seen it twice). It is beautifully shot and depicts the darkness of winter with all of it's forebodings of death, as well as it's renewals. The opening scene is filled with silence and the rustling of falling snow... I dare any Hollywood director to be as brave! Obviously the lack of a huge tent pole budget was no deterrence to the quality of this film. The acting is uniformly excellent with special kudos to the two young leads! The effects are well thought out and prove to be very effective in bringing sharp jolts of horror to what is essentially a poignant love story. Masterful work coming from the land of Ingmar Bergman... I knew there had to be some 'new blood' around! (No pun intended, or maybe it is... see this movie and you can decide!)
