El gran milagro (2011)
if you want to make your children atheists. This is your movie
It's not an exaggeration when I say that this movie is worse than hitting mom on her birthday..
One of the oldest anecdotes I have about this movie was when I was a kid. My school was Catholic so it was normal for them to show us Christian movies to find out about God and stuff, one of those times they didn't play this thing that could be called. "The Apocalypse"
I would criticize the concept of animation but that's just bro. I know that Latin America is not as advanced as the United States in this medium, but they could have done it at least in 2D. And this bassophy cost more than 3 million dollars.
For even an audience like the infant and family is irritable, my seven-year-old self-felt that that hour lasted more than 18 years. ...
It would save him a lot if it was done by a novice writer, but brother, this was the same writer who was in hercules and xmen.
Orion and the Dark (2024)
A simple story that entertains with a bad ending
A few days ago I decided to watch it after Netflix recommended it to me.
I swore it was going to be bad but it hooks you almost at the beginning, meeting a boy who is afraid of everything and the god of darkness comes to show him that darkness does not always mean anything bad, what happens then is a simple story, basic problems and philosophical phrases that for a child is not understood but being an adult or teenager surprises you, You can tell they gave creative freedom to the film's director.
But the ending is mediocre to say the least, the story had an ending made by the father that could be bad and sad but concluded well until his daughter wants to solve it, introducing herself into the story and "helping" Orion to revive the darkness, but it is so unnatural that it even seems like a deus ex machina, literally she solves all the problems just because.
But the worst part is the second ending, like a time machine trying to prevent the breakdown of reality with alien monsters.
I know that those who finished the play were children, but they had to set rules from the beginning to finish the story and make it feel satisfying.
Recommended, yes, something good, yes, a mediocre ending, the truth is that yes.
For something more general I swear that the style of the film reimagines, is what I loved the most about it, it's been years since I saw a new style of animation since acros the spiderverse. Dreamworks has long been experimenting more and more, bringing more different stories and unusual animation.
Kimitachi wa dô ikiru ka (2023)
I think possibly the best retreat for an author
It just starts off beautiful, it's normal to get a little tangled up with it, but it still has the spirit that Miyazaki has left in his films before.
I've never been a fan of Miyazaki, but this film surprised me and left me shocked, I expected something inferior, but it left me speechless, even at the end I almost ended up crying because of everything I had witnessed.
What impressed me the most apart from its story were the backgrounds, brother, it's been decades since I've seen a movie in theaters with the detail so great that it was impossible to just look at the rest.
There's not much to say, only that those who get the chance to see it in theaters should give it a try.
Armero (2017)
She should be called "the lady who wants to have a child and a mess."
If you came to see a movie about disasters, thousands of dead and as a nation deal with this problem. I don't recommend it at all.
This one starts with a lady asking a lady what happened that day and instead of getting to the point she starts talking about how she always wanted to have children, you would say well, it will be a few minutes. They happen all over the movie; I swear I wanted to turn off my TV before continuing.
Also, everything you see in the trailer happens in the opening and final minutes, so if you saw the trailer. Congratulations, you've seen how interesting this mediocre film can be about one of the greatest tragedies that occurred in the country of Colombia.
Recommended for people with insomnia problems and for people who like the mediocrity of movies that are made in Colombia.
