Dunderklumpen! (1974)
Very good movie!
An excellent movie for the younger kids, a beautiful picture for those who love Sweden's nature, and a moment of sweet memories for those who were kids in the 70's.
Per Åhlin (also the father of famous "Karl-Bertil Johnsson") really makes this movie a little less ordinary. Very nice characters and atmosphere.
Summary; A very good movie, well worth the time!
I Am Dina (2002)
Beautiful and interesting movie
I am Dina is by far the most beautiful film I've seen for a long time. The whole movie is a masterpiece in photography, and the Norwegian landscape is caught at it's best. The movie is very dark, death waits in the background all the time, and the hard life of Dina marks the whole movie straight over.
+ Breathtaking scenery + Good acting + Thrilling story
- Why don't speak Norwegian instead?
Well worth both the time and the money!
Torsk på Tallinn - En liten film om ensamhet (1999)
On of the best films in Swedish history?
Torsk på Tallinn is a cinematic masterpiece from the beginning to the end. I've never seen such a good mix of comedy, documentary and tragedy as this film presents. Killinggänget have really done it with this film. Nearly every line in the movie is by now cult!
Note: A couple of months after I saw the film for the first time, I saw a true documentary about american men going to Estonia for the official purpose of finding a wife. It was Torsk på Tallinn on the spot!
Älskar älskar inte (1995)
A little insight into the swedish airforce
For me as a flight enthusiast it's fun to watch movies with a lot of flying in it (obvious). "Älskar, älskar inte" has a bit of a Top Gun wannabe-feeling at first, with all the airphotos of Viggen rushing through on your TV screen. It's nice though, as long as there's no drama in it. So I recommend to watch the first 30 minutes or so.
Örnungar (1944)
Good movie for soaring!
Örnungar is a film from 1944 with famous swedish jazz singer Alice Babs in the headroll of Marianne. She get's mad at her father for marrying a friend of the family so soon after her mother's dead. Her father think's she should learn about responsibility and friendship and let's her go to a beginners-class in soaring. Soaring in sweden 1944 was just at the beginning of the sport's life, and was considered as a brave, healthy and exciting sport of it's times. Still, today it is. Anyhow, Marianne starts the course to be a gliderpilot, on famous Ålleberg in the south-west part of Sweden, somewhat of the headquarters for all soaring in Sweden. The movie has excellent pictures of aircraft and is the most famous soaring film in Sweden.
Other nice soaring-movies: The Thomas Crown affair (the original) - flies an SG 2-32 The Thomas Crown affair (with Pierce Brosnan) - flies a Duo Discus.
