The Ark (2023)
There's so much b..b..ba..bad
I watched all of season 1 because people kept telling me "it gets better", "it gets better." I suppose they were right, because originally my rating was one star and it got itself to a 4 by the end.
There is just so much bad. The acting is horrible and while some might blame that on the writing, I blame it on the actors. Don't get me wrong though, the writing is far worse. The CGI could be better, but it's passable for TV.
Every episode is predictable because there are no original ideas on this show. Well, the ship full of mid 20 somethings that are all at the "top of their fields" yet somehow have the maturity of preteens, is pretty original I guess.
Here's the thing that shows you that not only are the writers terrible, but so is the director(s); almost every main character has a nervous stutter. Sharon the clone, nervous stutter. Alicia, the most annoying character ever, nonstop nervous stutter. Angus, the oblivious plant guy, nervous stutter only second to Alicia. The female Doogie Howser with a drug problem, Dr. Karik, nervous stutter. The future influencer bimbo Cat, nervous stutter. The greatest engineer ever, Ava, nervous stutter. Even Trust, the genius savior of humanity, nervous stutter. I almost wanted to rewatch the entire season to make sure I hadn't missed anyone. Why do the writers think this is believable? How does a director not notice that every scene they're directing has someone stuttering like an idiot? How is this realistic?
I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'll probably check out season 2 to see if they improve anything, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)
It's called character development
Anyone saying this is boring or a filler episode obviously has never experienced the source material and clearly has not interest in character development. If you're just here for the clickers, that cool I guess, but TLOU isn't about the clickers, it's about Ellie.
The show runners did a great job bringing the game to the screen in thos episode. Granted, it was a slow paced episode filled with teen drama, but guess what? You're watching a show about a teen in the aftermath of a fungal pandemic.
This episode was a masterful recreation of the originalaterial and the show runners should be proud.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: All Those Who Wander (2022)
Other reviewers have it backwards
Other reviewers seems to think this episode is a rip off of Aliens. The thing is, the Gorn and their reproductive method existed in the Star Trek universe long before Aliens came to be. So if anyone ripped off anyone, Aliens ripped off Star Trek. So unless Alien came out in 1967, the other reviewers here have things backwards.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Elysian Kingdom (2022)
Disappointed
I get a lot of people are ok with an episode like this because it's "classic Trek" and I'd be fine with it too if we were getting "classic Trek" seasons, but we're not. We get 10 episodes a season not 25+. Please don't waste 10% of a season on garbage like this. Such a waste.
Fear the Walking Dead: Six Hours (2021)
45 Minutes of a Baby Crying is not Entertaining
Everyone involved in writing, producing, and directing this episode clearly have no idea what they're doing. Why on earth would any sane person think anyone is interested in a bad story drowned out by the incessant crying of a distraught baby?
