The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
My favorite musical
This movie is a true work of art. Just perfect. The scenery, the music, the costumes, everything is a 10 out of 10. They knew how to bring the play to the big screen in a wonderful way. The story develops harmoniously with each scene. The ending is tense and heartbreaking. There is no better way to end the story.
Each of the actors gave an absolutely wonderful performance. I especially want to emphasize Gerard Butler's performance as The Phantom of the Opera, he knew how to bring Erik to life in an extraordinary way.
This film is so well-made that you feel inside the story. If you love musicals and romantic stories with a dark touch, you must watch it.
Me voy a comer el mundo (2016)
I love it
One of my favorite programs on the El Gourmet channel. Vero is super nice and has a beautiful energy. It's pleasing to hear her talk. The program is very dynamic and interesting. In each episode, you learn something new about food around the world. I love to see when they go to countries with cultures completely different from mine, like Arabia, and to see what their customs are when it comes to eating.
The only thing to improve, in my personal opinion, would be to show a little more of the culture and places they visit. I get that it's a cooking show, the title itself says so, but I think it's a shame they don't show more of each place. In some episodes they show a little, but in others almost nothing or nothing at all.
Taylor Swift: All Too Well (2021)
A true masterpiece
Everything about this is perfect, from the actors to the sets and costumes. And not to mention the song. A true work of art.
Sadie and Dylan were the best choice to interpret this short film. I was impressed by their performances and how well they interpreted the characters feelings. Also, I loved that the age gap between them represents the age gap between Taylor and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had.
There are so many attentions to details in this. So many references to Taylor's songs and her relationship with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. And the ending is magnificent! I sincerely hope she will write a book based on this song.
Taylor is a real Mastermind!
Fallen (2016)
I expected much more
I loved the Fallen book series and I was looking forward to seeing this movie, but it was a huge disappointment. Apart from Jeremy Irvine, the performances were very weak. Empty dialogues, bad sets, boring costumes. I don't understand how they could ruin such a beautiful story like that. It is an empty film that could have been far better.
I think that only those who really liked the books can like this movie. Whoever hasn't read it or didn't like it will think that this is one of the worst movies they have ever seen in their life.
It makes me very sad that they ruined a story that had a lot of potential. I wish they would make a new movie from this book that is really worth seeing.
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Totally stunning
While the movie may seem a bit slow and boring at first, it has a kind of magic that makes you want to watch it over and over again.
From the performances, the sceneries, the music, the costumes, everything perfect. A beautiful adaptation of one of Jane Austen's best novels.
Keira Knightley perfectly portrays Elizabeth "Lizzy" Bennet. One of her best performances, I would dare say. Just perfect.
The script is extremely perfect. The dialogues are wonderful, especially in the scenes between Mr. Darcy and Lizzy. The film also pays great attention to detail that allows important messages to be delivered without the need for words.
If you haven't seen this movie and you like period and romantic stories, I really recommend you watch it.
