Hotel Rwanda (2004)
Hotel Rwanda is a very sad movie.
This movie was very good it is very sad though just to think all those people died for almost no reason at all. I couldn't imagine being in what those people had to go through 100's cramped in a hotel that could barely even fit all those people. The overall pacing and directing of this movie was good nothing was to fast. The story is easy to follow everything is understandable and Its a good historical movie that accurately shows what happened during the mass genocide of the Tutsi people. Luckily the majority of the people did escape and the Hutu's were put to a end and what's also scary is 1 million corpses were left behind.
Selma (2014)
Selma was a great movie!
I thought this movie was very good. It did a very good job about how it was in Selma and how they got the voting rights for them. It was very tragic that they were tortured in beaten just because of their color. The casting was good the guy they got to play Dr. King looked very similar to the real guy. The acting was good and the overall telling of the story. If you wanted to get a more basic telling of this movie then this is a good movie for you. I personally liked this movie because it was very detailed on showing how they actually achieved getting the bill passed and how Dr. King convinced the president to agree on passing the bill.
Cinderella Man (2005)
I liked this movie a lot!!!
Cinderella Man was really good in my opinion. I never really liked boxing all that much but this was an amazing movie about a boxer. The fights were really good in the movie, they were done well, the acting was very good in my opinion. The story in the movie was good, they made it understandable and not confusing. I think a lot of people would genuinely enjoy this movie. I see this as one I could watch more than once for sure. I liked how in the end it was a happy ending and Braddock wins and is the new world champion and how he got to live a happy life with his wife and kids after all of that and he even fought in World War II as a soldier.
A League of Their Own (1992)
his movie was okay, not my kind of movie....
I thought this movie was alright although I really enjoyed learning about the history of women's baseball during World War 1. This movie did a good Job with the acting other than some parts where it felt the tone was kind've off but other than that they did a really good job. The movie was not confusing and I was really able to understand everything. There were some good funny scenes that I think were thrown in there to make it less boring but It really over all helped the movie for just wanting to fall asleep during it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes baseball or the history of baseball.
Walk the Line (2005)
I really enjoyed the Johnny Cash movie!!!
I liked the movie a lot. It did a good job telling the story of Johnny Cash. If you didn't know anything about Johnny cash this would help a lot. I liked the songs in the movie and the way it was written, like how he put some of what his childhood was like and showed how his brother died. I really liked this movie a lot. It's hard to believe how a salesman who wrote songs in the air force turned into an out of nowhere big shot. I think anyone would enjoy this movie if they enjoyed what Johnny cash did in terms of music and wanted to learn more about him and his backstory. Also I liked the way the scenes were shot and the overall just tone and mood of the movie.
Elvis (2022)
Elvis was very good!!!
I really enjoyed this movie about Elvis Presley. They did a really good job on explaining his life and the events and conflicts he went through as a rock and roll star. The music was good, the visual and graphic effects were really good and none of it was confusing. I was able to easily understand it all. I never thought he would've been the one to abuse pills and drugs. It seems like he had all the happiness anyone could have. This movie is good for those who want to know more about Elvis Presley and people who want to learn about a guy that changed music forever. It's sad he died pretty early he could've lived a lot longer and continued to make good music.
Dunkirk (2017)
Dunkirk was a decent movie that showed what happened to the British on the beaches.
I liked Dunkirk pretty well. It's a great showing of what happened on the beaches of Dunkirk and how the boats came to take the soldiers home. I liked all the actors and scenes they chose for this movie. The plane fighting and overall looks of the movie were good. I wish there was a little more action in the movie but obviously it's based on the real thing so they can't just add more. This movie is good for the people who like historical movies and want to learn more about the events that took place on Dunkirk beach in France during the second world war. This movie is great in all aspects including the story telling, screenplay, overall effects, and acting.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Saving Private Ryan was a great movie in many ways!
I liked this movie a lot, had a good screenplay, overall acting was amazing and loved that they got Tom Hanks in there. The action was very good honestly throughout the whole movie. It was sad to see them kill Tom Hanks at the end. It's sad to think that all those people actually died. I think a lot of people would really enjoy this movie overall like I did. I think it was amazing and I would definitely watch it again. It's hard to believe they went through all of that for one man and sustained so many casualties along the way but luckily Ryan did get back to his mom and then he started his own family.
Unbroken (2014)
Unbroken is a very good movie.
I really enjoyed this movie. I can't believe that someone could survive 47 days on a raft with nothing but 2 rafts and a little bit of gear. I can't even imagine what was going through their minds while they were on that raft. The story was pretty good and this overall kept me pretty entertained even though I don't usually enjoy these kinds of movies. There is a little bit of plane fighting at the beginning and the CGI was really good for all of it. There wasn't really anything I did particularly dislike other than they survived all that time just to get captured by the Japanese. I couldn't even imagine what they must have felt going through all of that. He kept his faith the whole way through and ended up making it out.
12 Mighty Orphans (2021)
This movie was pretty sad but it was a good movie.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was amazing to see how a football coach turned 12 orphans into great football players. One of the things I really liked about this movie was that the actors they got to play the characters look very similar to the real people. It's insane to me that all these orphans went on to be successful people. The acting and the writing was really good, nothing I really disliked. The only thing I really didn't like was the kids were basically in a sweatshop. It's pretty sad to think they were already orphaned but then they are forced to do work and one little mistake is a beating. I recommend this movie to those who don't just like football but to those who like a great history movie.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
This movie was pretty funny and enjoyable!
I really enjoyed this movie. There were a lot of actors I didn't expect to be in this movie. This movie was funny and I laughed quite a few times. The graphics and screen writing were pretty good. It was not a movie that bored me or would make me fall asleep. I would definitely watch this movie again. I thought this movie was really cool and it is a modern telling of the odyssey and how you could tell which each character represented what in the movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to others who like comedy and the odyssey. There really wasn't anything that I didn't dislike about this movie.
Mississippi Burning (1988)
I liked Mississippi Burning. It showed just how bad it used to be back then.
This movie did a really good job showing how bad colored people had it back then. Some wouldn't even talk because they were afraid they would be attacked by the k.k.k in the middle of the night and possibly killed. I feel bad for the people who were victims. They just wanted to live their life and didn't deserve to be put through stuff like that. The fact this was a real thing that happened is sickening. This movie was filled with tons of famous actors and was put together good and the acting was awesome as well. I couldn't find anything to really dislike other than the movie other than in a way it's scary knowing that those people weren't safe back then. If you like history movies that show how bad the racism and the treatment the people got this is a movie for you.
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
I liked that the movie had a happy ending
This movie was overall pretty decent. It wasn't my favorite Christmas movie but it was alright. The acting was good like when George found out and he was genuinely scared and afraid and the movie was put together pretty well. I'm not a big fan of black and white movies but I was able to sit through it alright. It's not something I would ever watch on my own, it would have to be with family or someone I know but it would be too boring to watch by yourself. There wasn't much not to dislike other than the audio wasn't good or maybe it was good for its time but It was made in the 40's so probably wouldn't judge too harshly. If you like old christmas movie classics then this is a good movie for you.
A Christmas Carol (2009)
I can't believe this is a kids movie this would definitely scare some little kids.
I liked this movie a lot the animations are really good and the graphics and voice acting are also good, but honestly I did not expect a kids Disney movie to be actually kind of terrifying even though it animated but It's not so good I would watch it again unless it was like Christmas eve and with family. I didn't like how they made the movie unrealistically scary for something that's supposed to be Christmas feelng it feels more like a Halloween movie than a Christmas movie so that's really the only thing I mainly disliked about this movie but if you read A Christmas Carol then this is a good movie for you.
The Majestic (2001)
This movie was okay, not my kind of movie.
I liked this movie pretty alright although there's no action which I usually prefer. I love Jim Carry and how he played a great part in the movie and how he finally played a more serious role. One of the main things that kept me entertained during this movie was the humor and various just happy parts. I didn't like how slow the movie felt. The scenery was good and other various nice visuals and graphics. I feel bad for Peter and how he lost his memory then he believed he was Luke and for the girl who believed he was Luke just to find out he wasn't Luke, just to get heart broken but eventually they got back together which was happy.
Argo (2012)
This movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it.
I liked how a ton of really famous actors came together to make this movie and to show how the CIA got the 6 hostage Americans out of captivity. There wasn't any action in this movie really but the comedy and just the overall suspense made up for it. I really enjoyed this and I know others will like it too. I feel bad for the people in that situation especially because they are trapped in a foreign country and they are wanted and if they are caught will be seriously tortured. The acting was good and they did a good job capturing what people looked like back then. I would definitely recommend this movie to others who haven't already seen the movie.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Dr. Strangelove was pretty good.
The only thing that made this movie good was the comedy other than that it was pretty boring but what would you really expect from a movie from the 50's. If you don't like old movies that are boring but funny at times then don't like it but if you enjoy comedy then this movie is for you. I liked this movie because of the comedy because if there wasn't any then I honestly would have fallen asleep during this movie. The cgi is pretty good for its time considering it is the 50's. If you like old classical movies then this is for you but if you don't like old classical movies then this isn't the movie for you.
Bridge of Spies (2015)
The Bridge of Spies movie is alright.
I liked it, it was alright. The movie is obviously not an action movie but it was decent overall. There is a brief scene where people get shot but that is about it. It's really one of those movies where you really have to get into the story and like history for it to be any sort of enjoyable. If you don't like boring movies where they talk for about 99% of the movie then you probably shouldn't watch this. It had good CGI and good acting which makes up for the lack of action and other elements like spies. There isn't much of that in it even though it's called the Bridge of Spies, overall I could only barely sit through this movie.
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
This Is Probably My Favorite War Movie!!
This movie is really good, the fighting is good and the graphics are amazing. I liked it alot I never thought someone could be so committed to not touching a gun. I legitimately thought it was gonna be all over for Desmond but he still got in as a combat medic. He saved tons of lives on Hacksaw Ridge without any weapons which is mind blowing. If you like movies with comedy and a lot of fighting then this is a good movie to watch. I enjoyed this movie a lot and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I would definitely watch this movie again. I honestly thought he died at the end but he had God by his side who gave him the strength to do this.
Red Tails (2012)
This movie was an amazing World War 2 movie!
This movie was awesome and I loved it a lot. It had the perfect combination of action and just normal scenes like talking and other various things. I really liked the dog fighting parts. It was really well made and the CGI is really good in this movie. My all time favorite was definitely when they blew up the German destroyer. Any World War 2 movie fans should watch this movie for sure this is one of the only movies that I felt actually toy with my emotions. There really wasn't anything in this movie that I disliked. It's just an overall really good movie. This is definitely one of my favorite World War 2 movies. I could re-watch this movie and it would be just as good the second time.
Harriet (2019)
The Harriet Tubman movie was better than I thought.
I liked this movie a lot even though it was a historical movie which I usually don't enjoy, this one just was very good overall. The visuals were good, there was a decent bit of action in the movie and good acting from everyone in the movie. It really showed how horrible the slaves had it and how the north and south were so much different. This movie however also showed how Harriet freed dozens of slaves and led them to freedom. If you really like historical slave movies or just a good movie on Harriet Tubman this one's for you I also like how it made Harriet look not just like a slave helper but also someone not to reckon with.
Lincoln (2012)
The Lincoln movie was great!!!!
I thought this movie was pretty good besides there not being a lot of action. It seems like one of those movies that it would be pretty boring but its not if you understand the comedy and if you do understand then it's a really good movie also bring a snack to watch this or it won't be nearly as good of an experience. It's definitely not a movie for little kids because they would definitely get bored. Even though it's just a history film I did learn a lot about the history of it through the movie like I said I definitely recommend this film to an older audience who enjoys dry humor and history.
Dances with Wolves (1990)
This movie was amazing!
I loved this movie it was a great western. The acting was great and it was overall genuinely good. It wasn't like most movies where it jumps around and you don't understand what's going on. I loved the story and it had pretty funny scenes that I found funny and it's 33 years later. The action was good and I especially loved the dog that was in this movie. I seriously miss judged this movie by the title alone I originally thought this movie would be a slow paced and most likely boring movie. I was however very wrong if you like american civil war/Indian movies this is a great movie for you to watch.
The Searchers (1956)
The Searchers is a pretty good classical western.
I thought this movie was pretty good overall considering it was made in 1956. The acting was good and they did a good job with it, all the characters had their own personalities and it was shown. The movie had some action which was probably one of the only good things it had since most of it was mostly just them talking. Overall it was definitely one of the better western movies I've seen and it's definitely better than a lot of movies even today. The biggest thing that most people would probably dislike is the stereotypes in the movie, but that's probably accurate for the western era. The movie made Indians look like they are all ruthless killers and savage and some were like that but not all of them. I would definitely recommend this movie if you like classical westerns and you have literally nothing else to watch.
