The Haunting of the Morgan Estate (2020)
oh wow, where do i begin..
I cant believe i rented this movie, the haunting of the morgan estate is giving one of those cliche blockbuster wannabe vibes, and yet still fails miserably at even achieving that. The opening scene was probably the best part of the movie. After that, i felt that the movie was too rushed, the editing was atrocious, it would cut to scenes in the future/ past without any context. The writing won the cringe factor award, i felt like i was watching a parody p*rn with the way they delivered their lines. The haunting of Morgan estate also had many holes in the plot, first plot hole; why would he even bring her there in the first place?
The second of many is as soon as they arrive he and the groundskeeper start acting all weird towards her and watching her every move when there was no reason to even suspect anything in the first place. Maybe just maybe, if the movie hadnt been cut so deep by editing that it would be a tolerable film.
I dont know ya'll, but its a no for me dawg. I FORCED myself to sit through to the end, i did that so you didnt have to.
Into the Forest (2019)
At times it was good
To start off I loved the found footage style, the characters were somewhat likeable, I however couldn't get past how Amy forgets her pills and the guy says "im not going back 3-4 hours to the cabin to get pills". But then when she has a reaction around 3am, the guy says "I'll be right back I'm going to grab the pills" then gets to the cabin, it's still pitch black outside, then he runs all the way back to the tents. Remind you he just traveled roughly 8 hours and he left around 3 am. It's still pitch black outside. They make it seem like he only ran 20 minutes back to the cabin. That was a huge flaw.
7 Nights of Darkness (2011)
Wow... This is top notch
I read the previous reviews and decided to give it ago, now after watching this film, I have to say the way they did the found footage was phenomenal, the acting was so realistic, i liked how they were smart compared to other films of this style, it really felt like i was apart of their group. I have never seen a paranormal movie done so well.
7 days of darkness kept my attention throughout the entire film, i kept trying to smoke but i was glued to the screen.
What i liked about the ghost was how there were no unnecessary CGI done. It was just the perfect amount. I watched this movie when i was alone at night but i will rewatch it when i am with my S/O for a spooky date night.
A Night in the Woods (2011)
brits suck at found footage.
I dont know man, it seems like every british found footage i find is just garbage, it feels like they tried to rip off the blair witch. Yes, i know there are many out there that does this but i feel like this diolog was horrible and there were no likeable charectors. It was just bickering. Its like a toxic relationship on the screen, you get someone who hurts the other emotionally then they apologize then the other person does something similar then apologizes, its just a huge circle. I wouldnt reall waste your time watching this, i have sixty four more words to use so i am just typing this and that.
June 9 (2008)
it takes alot for me to like a movie and this did the trick.
I had randomly found this gem while browsing tubi, and i got to say i got hooked by the nostalgic feeling it gives you from the 90s, the jokes and pranks made me feel like i was reliving my childhood. The way it was shot was perfect for this type of movie and for that era, similar to the Blair witch found footage .
The jokes were spot on, and i was on the edge of my seat at times, I can only think of one or two scenes out of the entire movie where i just could not pay attention for the life of me, had to rewind 6 times because i was afraid of missing some of the plot. The ending was great, and made my stomach feel queasy.
