Good Kids Movie
17 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Last Sunday I visited "Der kleine Eisbär 2" with my daughter (7) and found it quite entertaining. This time Lars and his friend Robby start out for a rescue mission for their friend Caruso leading them to the Galapagos islands. On their way they save an big ancient fish and many little sea turtles. The story is well told, suspenseful (for kids) and sometimes funny. The painting is good in general but nothing special. What really drew me in this picture was the excellent sound track (I'm not quite sure but I think I read the name Zimmer for it). Also the German voices did their job quite well do breath live to the characters. All in all I found it to be a quite good film for the whole family, especially kids...

Beware - if you are 7+ years
28 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
My daughter (6) made me to see this movie, because she likes Felix and has a lot of Felix-gadgets (school bag, books, games, ...) and it was really - awful. The plot (is there any?) is build on Felix meeting the Yeti, Nessie, Vampires and finding Atlantis, all this while being haunted by a green wizard (for no obvious reason). Come on, I know, this is a kids movie, but don't our kids have the right to see more intelligent animation films? I've been to Laura's Stern with her, too, and I found it a touching movie. I've seen Toy Story just the day before and it was a very good movie - but this one was just disappointing. I found the Felix books and games most suitable for kids of a certain age but the movie has just no fitting target age - so if you're 7 years plus just stay away...
