Black Sheep (1996)
YOU'RE GOING TO BE LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER
Anyone who wouldn't sit down and watch this again for kicks with someone else is simply pressed for time. I'll admit it is pretty cheesy, but Chris Farley is one of the greatest. You get to see his act develop in this film because I'm pretty sure this was an early one in his career. The stage act was hilarious and so was the security guard bit. The plot of the movie isn't fantastic but since its a comedy its easy to give that a pass. The ending is at the very least unpredictable. I wont spoil anything, but the end is an action packed head scratcher. I'm done with this review and if you're reading this far into my review you've probably already wasted a whole 3 minutes of your life. So, might as well waste another 1 hour and 27 on this "jumpy" comedy.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
The people who gave this movie a 1 are cranks
This is the quintessential example of the "rouge american psycho". He stops at nothing to acquire the cash that is stolen from him. All these people who gave it a 1 are like "muh character development!!". Look buddy youve got to think about the screen play. The originality of how the antagonist and protagonist play this cat and mouse game over the money is crazy good. The small details in the antagonists personality, his honor over the coin flip, and the tenacity at which he moves through the movie is very entertaining. You could MAYBE argue this movie is a 7... but anything below that and i think youve just been smoking crank. Peace.
Transcendence (2014)
You all are wrong
This movie is a solid 7. A 7 as in I would watch it again. The ending is a bit of a let down and I wont spoil it, but the idea behind this movie is executed well. Throughout it keeps you on your toes. I would never give this movie an 8 because it does fail to explore the overarching effects that this scenario would have on the world, and we dont really get to see what actually would happen if something like this were to happen. The movie does only scratch the surface in that regard. Other than that its a nice glimpse into an idea like this. The what ifs are cool to think about. If anyone has watched ghost in a shell, its a similar thought experiment. I do recommend this movie if you want to dance around those what ifs.
Predestination (2014)
This is a paradox
There are to many practical reasons why this time travel film does not make sense. I'm not an expert in time travel. However, there are paradoxes for sure. The film even admits it in the scene where the fizzle bomber meets himself. On top of everything the true confessions writer/reader impregnates herself? Did I get that right? Well then how could he not have known that while telling the story at the bar. How are they two different people. The idea really starts to hurt your head if you think on it awhile. Everyone is sitting around writing about how this is inception level movie making when we all know that Inception is miles ahead of this film in its plot. I do not see the hype in this particular movie (predestination), but it is worth a watch and I almost gave it a 7, but again, the time travel paradoxes kind of ruin the logic of the movie.
Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child (2016)
Barely a 5
I'm giving this movie a 5 only because the team MIGHT have a chance to recover this absolute fumble of a film in a sequel. LOL Dad saves his daughter from a horde of monsters that actually end up killing him and are actually on the side of his daughter and then a monster and her blast off to another planet? What?! Closing statement. The monsters are some jaba the hutt rip off. I don't know. I'm starting to think a 5 was generous. The plot has way too many holes. The violence in the film is honestly really intense. I mean I guess if you're into a good slash and bash with little explanation of what's actually going on then this movie is for you.
