Das Signal (2024)
Slow paced gem
It's a slow paced gem. I'm surprised it's coming out of Germany because this has huge potential. Germany usually has weird cinematic skills.
This was well written with nice execution.
Most actors were fitting and good.
A subtle, underrated contact series!
I was hooked because of it, and can understand some reviews if this topic isn't a little personal passion.
The message couldn't be more accurate, actual and important. Yes, humans combine the best and the worst, and no outside force could be a greater danger than humanity is to itself. In the end, we all need to come together, to do better and show the universe we are more than our history. Money and power corrupts us, but the good will prevail. First contact concerns us all. This planet concerns us all.
Beautiful ending of a complex yet so simple story, I had tears rolling down the face. Sometimes, what we think is crazy or too far out there, really isn't.
Supernatural: Lebanon (2019)
First half meh, second half wins
When the episode started and I looked at the rating I was looking forward to another masterpiece like changing channels or the like.
Well the first 20 minutes are quite confusing and boring. The plot with the youngsters seemed replaceable and totally random. The return of their dad was okey but I was hoping that's not what the episode is about, and almost went on to give 2-3 stars. Then the fun begins! They transported their dad into the future and messed with the timelines.
Everything changed and that's where the episode takes off, after 20 minutes!! It wouldn't deserve an 8 but having Zachariah back and the original Castiel and so much more awesome scenes, it made up for the bad start.
Supernatural: Let the Good Times Roll (2018)
Been waiting for it!
The previous episode was okey but nothing special, too predictable.
This episode however, had some unexpected turns.
As soon as I saw the title picture and Michael came into the bunker I thought the original Michael would somehow come back, but dean taking the alternate Michael was unexpected and I've been waiting for angel dean since season 5!
Really looking forward to the second last season.
The 13th was better than 12th, although I ended up liking them both.
Now with the sinister Michael version in dean there's lot of potential though I was hoping the angels would be a force of good once and for all.
Let's see what happens next... well done anyway.
Supernatural: Wayward Sisters (2018)
What a pity it didn't come into being
These last two episodes were great, with this one slightly better.
It went by so fast, hearing it could have been a backdoor pilot sounded great. But the network said they were missing the creative potential whatever that means. Such a shame!
Alex, Claire, Jodi, Donna, these are all great characters you got to love. Patience and Kaia were promising too.
This episode had some really awesome new monsters (finally) and an opportunity to expand on multiple supernatural worlds. This would have been so much fun!
Now it's probably too late and I can only hope to see more of it in the remaining series.
Supernatural: The Rising Son (2017)
Not bad, not exceptional
The story can be intriguing and these are going to be interesting last seasons.
Parallel reality - nice addition, not spectacular but has a place, fits in.
Asmodeus - looks like a new regular and am not sure what to think of it. Understandable but doesn't get my attention. The knights of hell seem unnecessary.
Cas, Rowena, Crowley - if they are gone for good then these will be very different last seasons. They certainly gave a lot to the show, will be missed.
Jack - interesting character and perhaps the most promising, lots of potential especially with the new monsters from hell etc.
All in all I'm curious for what's next.
Supernatural: The British Invasion (2017)
Actually a great episode!
Some of the reviews here are too simple and childish.
Yes, this season has been rather mediocre compared to the others (especially 11), but what did we expect after god and his sister??
They still manage to bring an interesting enough plot and in this episode it really brought some surprising moments. It gave a completely different outlook on the British men of letters, more substance. The obvious joke with the Hogwarts style school (even the woman looks like the one teacher in a Harry Potter movie) but then - boom - brutality. Wow. Another such moment was the death of mick, they really got me there! Wow :D
This ketch character is another mystery box. He appears to be a dog who listens to every command but especially after the night with Mary and his time with dean, his subtle face expression, it makes for an interesting continuation of the story.
Well done.
Supernatural: Don't Call Me Shurley (2016)
Thank god, finally
I was complaining on a couple of occasions about withholding god, wondering if they ever going to reveal him.
Well they finally did!
Yes, I was expecting more, especially since they have a habit to introduce various characters in a sloppy way. All I'm saying is, it would have been nice if they gave him a show like they did with the darkness for example, would have fitted. But it was okey and acceptable. Humorous and serious at the same time.
The dialogues are very interesting too.
To the rest I won't say much. Season 11 certainly is one of the best so far. The last few monster of the week episodes are a little boring but they usually are anyway :D the first half of the season had better such episodes.
Supernatural: O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2015)
Where is god?
11 seasons in and they still only talk about god.
Are those god's visions?
Does he respond to the darkness, his sister?
They once said he's somewhere on earth and keep bringing him up.
I sure hope they will get it over with and finally reveal him.
This season would be the perfect opportunity wouldn't it? Well...
I gave this episode a 9 because of the stunning visuals.
The cell with Lucifer, the wrath of the angels.
Very good execution.
But still, I'm not sure if god ever comes up as I'm only rewatching it now and made it to season 12 or 13 the last time. I'm going to be mad if they bring up everything but god. :D.
Supernatural: Paper Moon (2014)
Werewolves again...
99% of the series is nice to watch and makes a lot of fun. The demon and angel stories are the bigger pieces and I love every bit of it. It's what makes this series so attracting for me. I get there is other stuff to touch but it's always vampires or werewolves, sometimes shapeshifters, ghosts or djinns.
What's up with that? There is so much they could come up with as something new and exciting but it's always the same type of monster.
Some of these filler episodes are really fun and those with Charlie for example one of the best.
But I wouldn't mind if they focused solely on the main plots, as the other episodes are the weakest.
Supernatural: Meta Fiction (2014)
Perfect imperfection
It was a good episode, as usual with angel stories.
They're one of the best things in supernatural!
Castiel does a good job, dean gets a bit annoying and Sam more likeable.
Metatron's entrance was a bit weak but his character gets better as time goes by.
They could have done better with some parts but overall the angel arc finally gets somewhere. It always felt like they withhold the full potential.
Gabriel's return was fun and hopefully he will return at a later point. I watched until season 11 or 12 and have no idea what's happening in the last three seasons. I wish they bring up god at some point. They have the devil and all but god? That would make for a nice conclusion to the angel storylines. I can't wait to find out. Good job all in all.
