Stranded (2006 TV Movie)
2/10
Should have been listed as a comedy
21 February 2015
The plot could have been interesting--even suspenseful--if the script had been better and it had been executed by a cast that could actually act.

As is, the movie is so cheesy and the acting so atrocious that you cannot help but watch just to laugh at the sheer absurdity of it. Of course, there is also "eye-candy" to distract people from how utterly and horribly insipid the movie is as a whole.

I actually find it shocking that any of the cast managed to make acting their career. Hopefully, they took some acting lessons along the way.

I will say that the location/setting was quite lovely. In the hands of a more capable screenwriter and far better actors, the premise of this movie would make a good film worthy of the term "suspense."

The Sandlot (1993)
10/10
For Baseball fans and fans of childhood
31 July 2008
I have watched this movie every time I have come across it...it really is that good. If you, like me, grew up in that era you simply can't help being caught up in the nostalgia and this simple, but perfectly written movie.

For me, everything about this movie rings true. No, it is not a great theatrical masterpiece or a stunning and thought-provoking commentary, so if you're looking for that, change the channel.

What it is, is simply a glimpse of our country, and our world in the time before political correctness, reality TV and our fast food way of life. A time when all a kid needed for fun was a group of friends, a ball and a space to play in.

Many of the changes of the past few decades have been wonderful, but I must admit I do miss certain aspects of the past; The Sandlot epitomizes all of them.

Do yourself a favor and watch this movie. Alone or with your family, old enough to have lived it or younger you'll love it.

Lucky Chance (2008– )
1/10
Waste of Airtime
29 July 2008
If I could have given this "series" a negative rating I would have, It truly is that bad. The acting (and I use the term very loosely in this case) is horrific, coupled with a plot that if one were to say it was contrived they would be giving the "series" far too much credit. It absolutely takes itself far too seriously and tries far too hard to be "hip" and "cutting edge." Hopefully this will be a short lived experiment that will die a quick death. Especially since it is airing during shows that I happen to enjoy and watch on a regular basis.

Change the channel and watch commercials when this comes on, you'll be far more entertained.
