Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Terrible
Waititi is like a child who discovers a joke that makes an adult laugh the first time (Ragnarok) and then proceeds to double down and tell it over and over again, showing his immaturity and inability to grow up (Love & Thunder)
After Ragnarok success this movie had the ability to catch audiences off guard and create a dark, gritty atmosphere in this successor. But Waititi fails on every level, choosing to make some slapstick comedy that feels void of substance and lacks a compelling or interesting storyline.
Christian Bale was robbed of an excellent opportunity to play a truly dark character, we witness pretty much 0 God deaths from Gorr.
Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor teaming up? Sounds amazing!! But was it? Who knows, we didn't get to see it!
Waititi failed miserably with this movie and proved he's just a sub par director and man child with no range, a one trick pony if you will...
On top of that, this film has some of the worst CGI and Waititi bloats it with the cast and crews spoilt kids most of which are terrible actors, robbing children who have been working towards a career of a life changing opportunity, just because it comes down to who you know.
Glad he's been removed from Thor 5, he ruined Thors journey.
I Am Soldier (2014)
Lacked realism
Overall a disappointing depiction of what real SAS training and operations are like. Basic storytelling, turned the movie off once they started spraying bullets and engaging in some terrible fighting choreography.
The movie lacked character development, and went from peaking my interest to outright losing it. The director would have benefitted from having some former SAS servicemen on set to provide some accurate portrayal, rather than it looking like a bunch of inexperienced kids running around playing airsoft, holding guns incorrectly.
Watching ten minutes of YouTube could have provided the director with a more realistic insight into how our special forces operate and conduct themselves.
It's a disappointing misrepresentation of how soldiers engage in battle with some extremely flawed logic when it comes to making combat decisions.
