Faraway Eyes (2020)
Unromantic and Dull
The story was unique and interesting, until the last 10 mins. Towards the end, when Michael found out Bee's boss was a murderer and that Bee was his next victim, why didn't he warn Bee about him? Instead, he only told her she was in danger and must run away immediately (obmitting the danger was her boss). It doesn't make any sense that Bee's reaction was not one of curiousity regarding this sudden danger she was in, nor did she question Michael the specifics of his warning. She simply accepted the fact that she was in danger and must run away. The scene towards the end was meant to lead to an unexpected twist, but i find it long, dull and anti-climatic. It was the final chat scene between Scarlet and Michael where Scarlet made it seem like Michael will never be with Nora. That chat dragged on for a boring long time. When finally Scarlett asked Michael to follow her, the scene i'm sure was meant to be mysterious but as we know, turns out all this time Scarlet was taking him to reunite with Bee. The whole scene from the chatting in the 'office' to the long walk along the mysterious corridor dragged on for too long, so much so that when it finally leads to the supposedly unexpected twist of a happy ending between Michael and Bee, it was anti-climatic. Christina Ricci is a great actress, in fact one of my favourite. Unfortunately her presence was wasted in this badly written movie.
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015)
Main character is not growing
I'm afraid the show is going downhill in Season 3. Marinette's character as a person is not maturing, while all her other friends are, even Chloe. She is becoming a psychotic stalker, selfish, conniving and inconsiderate of others, so unlike the lovable Marinette in the first one and a half seasons. Whoever is writing the stories and creating her character should start making changes to her personality as a person, cause from the episodes i've seen so far in season 3, Marinette is becoming less worthy of being Ladybug.
Dead Awake (2016)
Boring and Misinformed
OK, firstly 'Sleep Paralysis' is very real because I had experienced it at least 3 times in my life now. It was always around morning time just when I was waking up, still feeling that slight drowsiness. In my 'Sleep Paralysis', I felt like I was caught between my dreamlike state and the real world. My mind was very much alert or so I thought. I'm not so sure now. I recalled I couldn't move any part of my body but I could open my eyes and I had no problem breathing. Everything in my room looked exactly the way it was. However, what frightened me was the whispering voices which were all around me. I could not make out what they were saying or whether they were spoken by men or women. I can not remember what went on in my mind just that I was very scared. The paralysis went on for at least 1 to 2 seconds and then suddenly I was able to move and this time I knew I was fully awake. Normally I would forget my dreams after an hour or a day, but I recall every moment of my 'Sleep Paralysis' after so many years. Therefore I know I was not dreaming. In this movie, people died from it and I believe people can die from that. I was in my early 20s and 30s when I experienced my 'Sleep Paralysis',I was scared as hell but I could handle it. I'm in my late 50s now. If It happens again, I would either get a stroke or die from a heart attack. I enjoy watching horror movies but being frighten by a movie does not even come close to being scared when experiencing 'Sleep Paralysis'. Part of this movie is true but 'Sleep Paralyses' is not contagious. This movie is a joke making people think that it can transfer from person to person, example the scene where the girlfriend died and the sister slept over at the boyfriend's place and suddenly the girl's demon from her 'Sleep Paralysis' happened to the boyfriend. What a load of rubbish. If they had taken this story a bit more seriously, I would have enjoyed it. But it was not scary at all.
The Restaurant Man (2014)
Unhygenic
I've just watched an episode where Russell Norman helped these people with their new restaurant. Throughout the show, there was up and downs for the restaurant people, but eventually things started to go well and a few months later, Russell Norman went back to the restaurant and he was happy that the business was successful. I enjoyed that show (I won't mention the name of the episode because what I am going to say next, was disappointing.) At the end when Russell Norman was doing a recap voice-over of the show, a scene showed a pair of hands with no gloves putting slabs of meat on a sandwich. That scene was disgusting, not to mention unhygienic. It makes me think how much of the scenes in the show were real and how much was made up? Anyone knows if you are dealing with raw meat to serve customers, you put on a pair of gloves. I think the show is edited and cleaned up so the scenes will make Russell Norman looks good. That is so wrong!
