Too unbelievable despite good visual FX
4 May 2024
They must harvest grain by hand using scythes despite having hover carts albeit pulled by alien horses? Not mention the advanced weapons and spaceships. So much of this movie breaks/voids suspension of disbelief that it was hard to enjoy the otherwise good visual FX. A classic case of film making magic wasted on poor concepts/storytelling. The heros were bland and their successes so unlikely that I was almost rooting for the hapless villain whose over the top character was at least colourful. It's a demonstration of how space operas such as this can fail without well motivated story lines regardless of the eye candy.

A magnificent experience and way to expand your view of humanity.

Very broad and deep viewing.

The slow panning scenes and atmospheric music deliver a sublime high definition experience complimented and counterbalanced by short intimate accounts of very personal stories mostly about the individuals themselves and their sometimes incredible lives and at times harrowing experiences. So much so I had to pause for a break from the emotional intensity of some of the toughest stories.

There are three volumes/films and I have only watched most of the way through the first so far. I wonder if the on-screen text is played/available in other languages because I saw them in English on Google Play and the multitude people telling their stories are truly drawn from all walks of life and corners of the world.

A marvelous way to expand your view of humanity.

Young woman fugitive
25 September 2015
It's like a young woman version of The Fugitive where the heroin must dig deep to find the courage and resourcefulness to face adversity and danger, save herself and solve a crime while running from the law.

I found the acting a little blend but the actors easy on the eyes and certainly cared for the struggling heroin to succeed by the end. The pacing and tension seemed balanced to me with the action not overly violent or gratuitous.

The picture was very clear; streamed online in high definition resolution. Overall, not great or inspiring but not a bad way to be entertained.
