Zhenskiy roman (2005)
Just a short comment...
A pretty long and slowly developing story taking place in Russia during the famous "default" of August 1998 which affected and even ruined the lives of many people. Excellent performance by Alexander Domogarov. Actually, this is his best work in the cinema after his amazing Bohun in Jergy Hoffmann's "With Fire and Sword" where his character, a "bad guy", absolutely smashed the female half of Poland. In this movie (mini-series) Domogarov's Oleg Ermakov is a perfectly secondary character but he grabs your attention, interest and sympathy to the point you completely forget about the main characters and their problems. Though, some other actors (Valerii Ivchenko, Konstantin Khabenskii, Dina Korzun) are also very good. Beautiful music by Sergei Banevich.
La dame de Monsoreau (1971)
Still cannot forget...
I saw this movie many years ago on Russian TV, but even now I recollect it quite well. It is a very faithful and talented adaptation of Dumas' novel with excellent actors, especially Nicolas Silberg as "le brave Bussy" is unforgettable. If only it was possible to buy this movie on VHS or DVD...
