Darkstalkers 3 (1997 Video Game)
Superb Fighting Game
29 November 2002
The third of its series, Darkstalkers 3 is a great fighting game. There are more special moves and some creative stage design. The new characters are good but I would have preferred if there were more and they covered the monsters more obviously (What is Jedah supposed to be? A grim reaper-like figure?). In terms of the versions, I'd recommend the Japanese Sega Saturn one with the 4MB cart. It arcade perfect that way. Speaking of which, the game is also available as a ROM for the arcade emulater M.A.M.E. Both are under the name "Vampire Savior", the Japanese title I believe. An inferior Sony Playstation version also exists but I say that the game is meant to be played as the arcade version made it. Whichever way you choose, you will not be disappointed.

Could this year get any worse?
21 September 2002
2002 has seen some pretty horrid films. Crossroads, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Eight Legged Freaks, Rollerball, Swimfan...the list is long. With Stealing Harvard, it is made even longer.

I don't know how this film got past the production studio. Its story is full of holes of titan sized proportions. The dialogue is filled with lame attempts at humor that do nothing but fail. The characters are pathetic one-dimentional stereotypes that annoy the audience. Even the music seems second-rate and fails to set the mood accordingly.

That makes four strikes: more than enough to throw this garbage out.
