Boring and annoying characters
29 April 2023
Boring film don't waste your time, I wish I hadn't wasted mine, although I managed to watch the film from start to finish there just isn't anything in it that is exciting or even interesting, then add into it the awful main characters mainly the main female lead for me played by Keke Palmer who from the moment she is introduced is just annoying and unlikeable, she is that im a strong independent black women and I'm gonna scream and shout it and ram it down your throat type. Then to top it off there is a completely unrelated story involving Steven youn Character and a chimp that literally has no relevance to the film whatsoever it's like they completed the film then it dawn on them the film was awful and tried to come up with something interesting. But there no explanation as to why it's even in the movie. Avoid this movie how this has a rated higher then 5 I have no idea.

True to the games mostly
14 April 2022
If your a fan of the Resident evil video games then you will most likely enjoy this movie is most definitely a lot closer to the video games then the Paul W. S. Anderson movies. You will see a lot of scenes and settings straight from the video games of resident evil 1 and 2 as well as a lot of the characters. That being said the characters have been altered as they been given new back story's As well as new ethnic background in some cases. For some reason they wrote Leon as being a complete moron And some characters that I would have like to have seen are missing eg Ada Wong, Barry Burton, Rebecca Chambers. My personal biggest gripe with the film is it's feels like they tried to cram way to much into one film and the whole film feels rushed, it definitely is lacking the anxiety and suspense you feel in the games as a result of this. The visual are a bit hit and miss some are really good some are not so much, acting is so so. To sum it up if you like the Video games series or Book novels give it a watch if you not then probably don't bother.

Not good
30 March 2022
I'm sorry but it's just a pretty poor film in my opinion. The only good thing I can say is the visuals were decent other then that nothing good. The plot was stupid the acting bad, and the last 30 minutes well it just didn't really add up with the rest off the film to me turned into an action movie all off a sudden. 4/10.

Enjoyable beautiful to look at disaster sci-fi
9 January 2022
I thought it was an enjoyable film being a sci-fi fan. But oh my is plot pretty far fetched even for a sci-fi film the sun is dying so let's move the whole planet to a different solar system. Having said that the plot makes for the film to be able to have some of the most advanced and beautiful CGI I've seen in a movie, puts Hollywood to shame. All the sets costumes are top end as well. The film has a good pace and I didn't get bored I would recommend anyone who enjoys sci-fi.

underrated sci-fi gem
4 January 2022
Watched this again for the second time recently and forgot how much of a great film it is. Completely under appreciated I'm my opinion. The pacing of the film is great you won't get bored. Yeah the story is a bit much but it's a science fiction film so I can let that slide. But the real winner here is the cast and acting that is phenomenal 10/10 from me highly recommend for any sci-fi fan.

Better the the original in my opinion
3 October 2021
I'm a fan of the original wrong turn movie and I thought this was a better movie in my opinion. Anyone who is going to watch this thinking it's a remake of the original you will be mistaken it's a different movie. Although the story about a bunch off American kids going walking in the woods getting lost then getting themselves killed Is still the same. I thought the film was both well written and acted I especially liked bill sage performance. If you enjoyed the original wrong turn I say give it a watch just be prepared for a different film.

Off course it's awful, but that not a bad thing
3 April 2021
It's a film about a bunch of kids going on a lake and being attacked be a killer fish. What we're people expecting when they watched this? Of course it's terrible but that's what makes it good. If your planing on watching this expect silly decisions to be made by the characters and a poor storyline. Just as I did when I started watching a film about a killer fish, I wasn't expecting it to be a Dan Brown novel as some of the people leaving reviews on here clearly did. I thought it was as good as I was expecting but as you can see I didn't expect much from it. It decent enough to kill 90 minutes late at night when you can't sleep.

Scary with a little humour
18 February 2021
I will start by saying I'm a massive horror fan and have watched many many horror movies and tv shows in my lifetime so I have been somewhat desensitised to horror. So it takes something special to scare me these days. Marianne kept coming up on my recommended shows on Netflix and I finally thought I would give it a go and oh am I glad I did. The show has many creepy and scary elements with a bit of light hearted humour here and there. It is very well written, the acting, setting, plot and effects are all well done. I won't bother going into the plot as I'm sure it will all ready be covered by other reviews. The only 1 bad thing I have to say about it is there won't be a second season as Netflix have cancelled it which is a real shame as it had so much potential. Still I highly recommend watching for anyone who likes horror.

Loved it.
11 February 2021
Just finished watching and I loved it from the start to the finish. I thought the story, setting, acting and effects were all bang on. Anyone who's every watched battle royal will enjoy this. The brutality isn't as in your face and graphic as battle royal, but Its still not lacking in that department. Every episode ends with more questions then answer (in a lost kinda way) but it will keep you watching. I highly recommend. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Original great film
16 January 2021
Loved it, thought it was a great original science fiction movie. Good story, good acting. If you enjoy science fiction you will most likely enjoy this but don't be expecting the same action as a Hollywood blockbusters. It's a bit more like a science fiction drama then horror. There is a bit of blood and gore here and there but nothing to extreme.

Updated review season 1 10 stars season 2 8 star
20 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Updated review after finishing watching season 2. I thought it was one of the saddest yet beautiful shows I've ever watched, there was a lot of tear jerking moments for me and I'm not someone who gets emotional often. The story is basically people are turning into random monsters and follow a group of survivors in an apartment building. I would say it falls under horror but there is some light humour thrown in as well. There is good deal of drama in the mix, a couple of times I did actually cry something I don't do often. It is very well acted the story is great so far and there is a good balance of action and character building. I recommend watching with the original Korean voice with English subtitles, I tried to watch it with English voice overs but it just wasn't as good. The one negative i have is on the most part the effects are good but the CGI is great in places and then terrible in others. But I can't recommend this enough, now that being said season 2 just seems to be lacking something, I'm assuming it written by a different team because it just isn't as good it seems to swing more towards intense action with monster in it. They kill off characters we came to enjoy in the first season because you know why not? And introduce a bunch of new characters that take up the majority of the screen time after the first 3 episodes, im assuming they did this to speed up production, but it just takes the focus away from the characters that they have built a good amount of character development up with, (the few that are left from season 1) It's still some what enjoyable however I just feel the writing has let it down hopefully it will pick up in season 3.

Jon carpenters the thing meets hellraiser
18 November 2020
Anyone who is a fan off creature films will enjoy this movie. It's shocking it's not got an higher rating. It has the great visuals of the thing (no rubbish CGI here) with a kinda Hellraiser feel to it you will see what I mean if you choose to watch it. It's been on my recommended list from prime for some time but I kept putting of watching it due to the poor score on here, but I'm glad I finally gave it a go. Anyone who enjoys the old school 80s style effects and makeup horror will like this film. don't get me wrong it's no Jon Carpenters the Thing, but that's a masterpiece and one of a kind but I highly recommend this film all the same. The effect are brilliant, the acting is good. The story is pretty weird but I'm fine with that. To sum up ignore the rating score on here and give it a watch.

Better then the reviews on here
8 November 2020
I thought it was a good film. Kept me watching the full 90 minutes. The acting was good, the story was good. As for the ending well i quite liked it. it's very rare i can watch a film and not to have already figured out how it is going to end before it actually ends. so I'm always pleased when this happens and I can tell you your most likely not going to see this ending coming. So I give 8/10 for originality.

Campy comedy fantasy
2 November 2020
I'm a massive fan of 80s movies especially horror films and I've never been able to find this on any streaming services till now. Let's start of by saying It most definitely wasn't what I was expecting, I did not see this as a horror film it screamed more Comedy fantasy to me then horror. I think if it was to be certified today it may even be PG. having said that I still found it to be a very enjoyable movie especially seeing as it held no nostalgia to me as I hadn't watched it before. I particularly liked the chemistry between Jesse, Charlie and gramps. If you enjoy campy, cheesy 80 movies you will love this. But if your looking for a scary horror film then this isn't the film your looking for. Having said that I was looking for a horror when I watched it and still found it enjoyable so who knows give it a try you may like it.

Street Trash (1987)

It's trash but it's street trash.
1 November 2020
We're to begin with this one? Let's start with the story. Em I have no idea what is going on. Let's move on to the acting probably some of the worse I've ever seen in a movie. Violence and gore ridicules you are not going to see anything like it, believe me it's art. This movie is going to be one of the most bizarre and ridiculous movie you will ever see and for that it gets 10 stars from me. Be warned tho this move isn't for everyone if your easily offended give this a miss. But if you can look past the terrible acting and like me enjoy 80s horror B-movies then give this a watch. Promise me you won't have seen anything as bad or amazing as this film also there is game catch your never likely to see in a film ever again.

Forgettable horror
27 October 2020
Dull and boring if your thinking of watching this I highly recommend watching the autopsy of Jane Doe instead that's a much better and scarier movie. I don't have much to really say about this it's not terrible it's just about watchable but it's not going to frighten you and your most certainly going to forget about it quickly.

Us lost the plot
26 October 2020
Wow this may well be the most ridiculous, unbelievable plot I've ever watched it's just complete nonsense. This makes cabin in the woods plot look reasonable. I was a fan of get out so thought I would give this a watch and although i managed to finish the film I wish I had just rewatched get out. Having said that I still want anyone who reads this to watch it because you just have to see the plot for yourself to see what I'm talking about. It gets 3 stars for the soundtrack.

Alien clone (underwater)
20 October 2020
This film wasn't what I was expecting, in a good way. The film is clearly inspired by James Cameron's alien, you see a lot off similarities with the films. Set in a hostile unbreathable environment check. Female protagonist will be in just underwear and t-shirt for part of the film check. Crew have to escape exploding facility/ship check. Unknown hostile being hunting and killing them check. I enjoyed the film, I thought it was a lot better the I was thinking it was going to be. Clearly it isn't as good as alien because what is? But it still a decent film, I'm not sure why it has so many negative reviews I'm going to assume it's because it stars Kristen Stewart that poor girl gets a lot of hate. I thought her and the rest of the crew did a good job. From the opening scene this film starts with a fast frantic pace and keeps That going for the rest of the film. I wasn't tempted for a moment to pick up my phone and that's the best praise I can give a film these days the only negative I can say about the film is the creatures weren't the best CGI Your going to see. The film released in 2020 you would think the CGI would be much better. Other then that I thought it was good. I would say the atmosphere was the best part of the film. If you enjoy alien and are stuck for something to watch I say give it ago. But of course don't expect it to be on the same level.

House of the Witch (2017 TV Movie)
6/10
It's a standard straight to tv horror flick.
17 October 2020
I decided to give this a watch after reading the reviews on here, with some being very positive others very negative. I am a massive horror fan so I tend to be a bit more favourable with my reviews as most horror films tend to be a little underwhelming. Let's start by saying this isn't the worse film by a long shot that I've watched. But don't watch it with high expectations either it's some what average. There is zero originality to the film. your basic standard horror ingredients are all here. a bunch of dumb teenagers Decide that it would be a good idea to break into the towns old abandoned hunted house on Halloween (zero originality) then strange things start happening and of course there trapped in the house and start getting picked off. The acting is what you would expect from low budget horror flick (not great) I thought the effects and CGI were decent enough. It's somewhat gory and graphic in places but nothing to sicking. The plot/story is probably its biggest downfall there isn't much of one. So big question would I say watch the film. Yes if your a horror fan and your struggling to find something to watch. Just don't set the bar to high.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (2017 Video Game)
10/10
Great game. Underrated in my view
14 October 2020
I'm a massive game, have been since my first console (Sega mastersystem) I have played/owned hundreds of videogames. So it's very rare for me to find a game that has something new and original. But this game I think is special it improves on the predecessor shadow of Mordor in many ways manly the nemesis system and the storming and defended forts and avenging other players that have died. Story is good and the gameplay is fantastic. But the real element of this game is the nemesis system we're there is an ever changing hierarchy of orcs and warlords fighting for power and your actions as a player will impact this ever changing system. Not to mention the variety of the orcs themselves. A nice touch when you kill an orc and they comeback from the dead only to be disfigured from how you killed them is a particular favourite of mine. Also hats off to the developers who listened to there fans and removed the micro transactions. I really can't praise this game enough it's probably my favourite game on the current generation of consoles on one of my favourites off all time. So if your on the fence and still thinking about playing it I say give it ago especially seeing as it's incredibly cheap now. I just hope they make another one. I think the nemesis system still has a lot to offer.

Couldn't get past the first episode
10 October 2020
No British person speaks like this. It is clearly aimed at Americans who think we all live in dowton abbey. I'm sure the show is "perfectly splendid" but I really couldn't get past the stereotyping. Now if you would forgive me, but I do have to instruct my butler on how I would like the parlour to be set for this evenings party. This is an edit I'm am now 5 episodes in I thought I would try and stick it out. I was wrong this show is trying to be downtun abbey, it's basically a drama (a dull one at that) with very and I mean very small bits of what may be classed as horror. It's an absolute snooze fest, I'm not going to bore myself with the last 4 episodes. Oh and the girl says perfectly splendid several times in every episode and believe me it will annoy you.

The Invitation (I) (2015)
8/10
Slow burner thriller you will either love or hate
10 October 2020
The invitation I would say is a slow burner psychology thriller, the film is set at an uncomfortable get together of past friends who haven't seen much of each other after a tragic event resulted in two off the friends ending in deforce. If you want to see a film for action or horror this is not for you. Very little happens in the first hour as it all about making you think what is happening something isn't right here. But that's the point you need to keep watching to find out how it ends. The acting is pretty good as well, I felt the grief for the main characters as I'm sure anyone who has children would. The ending has a nice twist right before the closing credits as well that I didn't see coming. To sum up you will either love this film or you will find it boring. But I encourage you to give it a watch.

The best horror film To be released in the last 10 years
9 October 2020
This is probably the best horror film I've remember watching in the last decade. True there isn't many horror films that I can say have been great in recent times so there isn't a great deal to compare it with, but I found it to be a good horror, yeah it Probably won't give you nightmares but it's definitely worth a watch particularly if you like your evil spirits and demon films. The acting's good the effects and make up are good the story decent. The only bad thing I can say is it's nothing new and pretty predictable but it still gets a 10 from me

The Walking Dead: The Damned (2017)
Season 8, Episode 2
6/10
Not the best episode but not the worse either.
2 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I agree with most people the fighting is long and pointless no body cares about 90% of the characters no more, only the original characters from seasons 1 and 2. Do I care for the rest? well there characters haven't really been bothered to be developed so who cares if Aron, Jesus or even the king die in a gun fight. When Eric gets hit did anyone care? Probably not. There was a good point however when Rick kills the father protecting his baby girl and becomes the biggest monster in the episode. That seen broke my heart to be honest probably because I have a 13 month old daughter.
