Chasing Holden (2003)
Amazing
When I hired this movie I didn't know what to expect. I love DJ Qualls, I think he's so awesome and a terrific actor. Well this movie was wonderful, it's insightful, mysterious and of coarse even a bit shocking. Someone once told me why watch a movie if it isn't going to affect you later? Well this movie leaves a damn good effect. My eyes didn't leave the screen during this movie, it touched and moved me. If you have ever felt alone or like no one is listening then this is the movie for you.
Heavenly Creatures (1994)
Thrilling, shocking, scary, disturbing
Well I just finished watching this movie on video. I found it to be an awesome thriller. It was so intriguing and scary. The fact that it's based on a true story keeps you hooked the whole time. I think Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynsky were fantastic in this movie, brilliant. The writer has portrayed the story very well and the movie was really well done with all the scenes showing the girls' "fantasy land"
Well this movie was amazing and if you love a really good thriller, than you will love this movie! I give it a 8.5/10
Here on Earth (2000)
Not too bad
I think Here on Earth is one of those movies you can't watch over and over, I've watched it twice (out of bordeom) and yeah I'm sick of it. Also it reminds me a lot of A Walk to Remember. It drags on a fair bit and all the excitement is over within the first half an hour. Whatever, watch it if you're bored and you need a movie that you didn't need to concentrate too much on.
Riding in Cars with Boys (2001)
Dull and depressing
I hated this movie, I found it to be really depressing and boring. I was reading some of the other comments on here and I was just think how true it is that it was not a good idea to have a 35 year old playing a 15 year old, sure Olivia Newton John pulled off playing an 18 year old when she was in her early 30s but Barrymore just doesnt. This movie as I said its dull..it drags on a hell of a lot and I paused it and went out of the room several times just for a break from its depressing themes. Sure I feel sorry for teen mothers, in fact I know a couple, the thing is why make a movie based on such a depressing story about a really insecure, miserable woman who feel pregnant to a no-hoper and in the end did things really work out for the best? I dont think so..
Bad Company (2002)
This movie rocked!
I know there were a lot of bad comments about this movie, but I thought it was great. Chris Rock was hilarious in it and the whole movie itself was really entertaining, it was really good action wise and it also had a little extra flair, so watch it before you diss it.
Rose Red (2002)
Very Scary
I found this movie to be really scary and awesome for anyone that loves a good horror movie. I get scared really easily and recently a friend of mine developed an obsession with Stephen King movies and horror movies in general, I was able to sit through a bit of the Shining and all of the Firestarter (very tame horror movie starring Drew Barrymore as a child) I also watched Milo (weird..sorta warped horror movie) so watching Rose Red was a big thing for me. I think Stephen King is a pure genius, every scene of this movie had me shaking and terrified but for some reason it also had me enthralled and forcing myself to watch just to find out what happened next! The acting is really good especially by Kimberly J. Brown (Annie Wheaton) at first thoughts you may think that another "haunted house" horror flick can't be much different/better from any of the others, however Rose Red will always stick in my mind as excellent and stands out much more than a lot of other horror stories. I give it 8.7/10
Milo (1998)
Nasty
This movie is really warped..the acting is okay and it lives up to a true horror movie (plenty of deaths, a few twists) however it is pretty sick and twisted, made me feel a bit sick but I guess if that's your sort of thing. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are really bored it's kind of interesting and entertaining even though as I said it can make someone with a weak stomach feel kind of sick especially at the end. It isn't a very good horror movie and I have seen much better as it's pretty slow and takes things too far a bit too much in parts. But yeah I'd give it a 3 maybe out of 10.
The Good Son (1993)
Pretty alright
I am a fan of Macaulay Culkin, so I hired this movie. It's pretty good and the plot is really well thought up, the acting is good and everything. The only thing is if you're hiring this in hope of a good thriller/scare you will be sadly disappointed, it's not scary at all, a good drama though and a very good twist in the end. I'd give it a 6.5/10
