Wild Target (2010)
If you enjoyed Hot Fuzz & Death at a Funeral, this is a good one too!
I was a bit skeptical on watching this movie but once I finished, I loved every single minute of it. Billy Nighy, Emily Blunt and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley!) combined together for a very entertaining trio.
For fans who are picky on British flicks but like movies like Hot Fuzz, Death at a Funeral, you will love this one too. The movie starts off at a slow pace and it doesn't really kick in to higher gears but you don't mind it at all. The story progresses with Bill Nighy as a lone assassin meeting the other two and then how it changes his life forever.
It was good to see Rupert Grint away from the Harry Potter movies although he assumed the role of a sidekick once again here. I feel Grint could go on to star in other comic roles. Emily Blunt seems to be the life of the movie with her antics and quick hand! Overall, a good movie to watch and have a good laugh.
RED (2010)
Kind of like giving the heroes a last hurrah
From the trailers itself you kinda know where this movie is going. Big action star Bruce Willis comes out of retirement for one last hurrah and that is what his character does too. But don't let it put you off! Coming in with Morgan Freeman, Malkovich and Helen Mirren, they pull off some crazy stunts and save the day! Malkovich is easily the best character here. He delivers some stellar acting and not for one moment did I feel that he was over selling his character. Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren don't get too much screen time and they feel under-used considering they are two of the best to ever grace the screen.
The movie kicks off slowly but soon turns into a high paced scenario where the 4 plus Mary Louis Parker are running to save their neck and of others. At the end of the day, it feels like Bruce Willis might finally put his Die Hard days behind him, but who knows? Maybe like Sylvester Stallone, he maybe back again ;)
Inkheart (2008)
You will like it if you liked Stardust
I only watched this movie because the trailer looked new and the idea was an interesting one. I liked the movie but throughout the first half, you get the feeling that there is something big coming up and you just can't wait till it does. The ending was quite satisfactory considering what happens.
The actors were all well chosen for the roles they portray. The bad guys led by the evil Capricorn fulfill their role as a motley crew. There is a hidden humor amongst them which does not bore. The CGI animations were very well done especially the magical creatures and alike.
Overall, I would say that if you like Stardust, you will enjoy this one. Although, Stardust is still better in my opinion.
I give it 6 only because the first half drags on a bit long and takes sometime to move onto the real story.
