For Love of Amy (2009)
Entertaining...
Good direction by Ted. Film Crew did a decent job, some of the lighting was a bit dark, there were parts were it was a little hard to hear what was being said, the actors were good, the little girl was very convincing. I noticed a couple of instances were scene continuity was a bit of a problem (one scene had a traffic light green then from another angle the light was yellow). A couple scenes ran a bit long. The credits did not list everyone as far as I could tell, that drives me nuts! If this is the writers first time making a near feature length film, good job, time will build his skills.
I must say I would and have recommended others see the film.
The Toolbox Murders (1978)
Excellent levels of Gore!
This movie get a 10 out of 10 heaving vomits for the amount of gore content. The faint of heart better be ready for this low budget slash, stab and bludgeoning fest. The Friday the 13th and other slasher movies cannot touch the level of absolute violent methods used to kill people. Only the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre tops this one in the degree of blood and terror. Even though the acting, cinematography and screen play obviously sucked, there's NOTHING like a good gore filled movie from the 1970's. Cameron Mitchell does a very good job conveying an image of absolute lunacy and insanity. Pure madness drips from he very pores of this man in every moment he appears on the screen. An extremely GORE filled movie.
I Am Legend (2007)
About the worst remake I've ever seen
I've enjoyed Will Smith in many of his performances. However, even with his well above average acting skills, the screen play and story line are a very WEAK substitute for the Omega Man. Very unrealistic, if everyone is dead except him, why haven't the nuclear power plants melted down? why is the gasoline still usable? Just a plain stupid movie. He has a dog and has not eaten it yet? A garden in the middle of Manhattan and there's pollutants all over the place. He should have been dead many times over LONG BEFORE he made contact with the chick and her son. Why in the world would he not jump in the furnace with the woman and child if he found the cure for the virus affecting everyone. Stupid! Stupid, stupid, STUPID movie. Wait for this one to come on cable television. There's no reason to waste money on tickets to see this movie THEN pay for it again watching you at home.
Chi sei? (1974)
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen
OK, so it's a complete rip off of the Exorcist. The Cinematography is awful and the acting is nearly as bad. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. From the Cheesy script, this thing was NEVER scary from the day it was released. I took my 5 and 4 year old nieces to the drive in to see this movie and it was non stop laughs! People were throwing stuff at the screen, blowing their horns from the side wrenching laughter. Oh my GOD this movie was and is a CLASSIC cult film. Like going to see NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, it's nothing more than an opportunity to get high and have a really good time watching it. I only wish it were available on DVD, it would have already been in my collection. A great film if you need something to roll about at a party. It should have been rated "H" for HILARIOUS!
Eraserhead (1977)
The WEIRDEST movie I have EVER seen EXCELLENT!
This is the most insane movie I have EVER seen in my life. I first watched this at a movie theater in LA and nearly HURLED when I saw a couple of the scenes. I equate it to a very, very BAD LSD experience! From the moment the movie started, I eyes never blinked. The visuals were extremely captivating yet horrifying. The lighting, sound (that constant drone!) and cinematography fit perfectly into the framework of the movie. I think this is David Lynch at his finest moment. Obviously the director experimented with hallucinogenic drugs and was more than likely using them during the production of this film. Anyone that has not seen ERASERHEAD is missing out on a true movie experience.
