The Cay (1974)
This film should be issued as a video
"The Cay" is one of the best books to have been written for children in recent years, and it is now used as a school text in Britain and America. The 1974 T.V.production,starring James Earl Jones as Timothy and Alfred Lutter as Philip, was an excellent film version of this story, and it is a pity that it has not yet appeared as a video.Schools,I know, would make use of it,and its many fans would buy it.It is still going the rounds of European T.V.networks,and I last saw it on Polish T.V.in 2000.
Disneyland: The Prince and the Pauper: The Pauper King (1962)
The best of the film versions of this story!
Films of "The Prince and the Pauper" are mainly judged by the performances of the boy boys] who play the title roles. And in this regard Sean Scully is unsurpassed as both Prince and Pauper. He played both parts with verve and panache, and subsequently made this version the best one filmed to date.So why can't I buy a video copy of it?
