Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
Wow. Just wow.
Going into this, I had no idea what I was getting into. After the first lines, I did. This film is so bad, I took notes, I was ready to pick this apart, but then I realized one very important fact. After the final cut was complete and James Nguyen had finished watching it, he had to say: "This is great, we nailed it!"
As a film fan, I have seen a lot of bad movies, now I can say, I have seen the worst movie ever made. This is a movie all true movie fans should watch and then hand the DVD to a friend and say "I dare you."
A brief rundown as to why it is so bad; The acting, I am fairly certain that Alan Bagh got the part because he actually owned the Mustang and they needed a nice car. I definitely was not because of his acting chops. The editing, a high schooler with iMovie could do a better job, even in 2010. The timing, mom's thumbs up that lasts just two beats too long, making it awkward, was painful. The heavy handed message delivery, why not make everyone just carry signs, "Global Warming is bad!" Finally, the birds. It starts with the parrots, in San Francisco, and it just goes down hill from there.
If you have time to kill, and like bad movies, this one does not disappoint, except on every level. But at least you can say, "Yeah, I have seen the worst movie ever made."
Hot Dog ...The Movie (1983)
Typical 80's, enjoy
"Hot Dog...the movie" is very simply really bad and one of the best ski movies out there. Tons of gratuitous sex with tons of great skiing is what makes this film worth watching. I made my father take me and a friend to this movie for my 16th birthday, I am sure he hated it, but we loved it then and I love it now. I just finished watching it and it is still exactly what I expected. Sex and skiing. Shanon Tweed is, for her third movie, doing what we all expected, showing off her body. Unlike "Amazon Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death" she strips and shows almost everything. We must remember this can be classified and nothing more that '80's schlock, but really good '80's schlock.
Bottom line, if you love the 80's and it's movies, this 1984 classic (ha,ha) will please all true movie fans. If however you are looking for a great film, look somewhere else.
