Most of the First season was above average,there were some hit or miss episodes but mostly the stories were fine and diverse. On the second season most, if not all of the episodes are the based on the same principle. A Girl (shocking I know) is oppressed - taken down etc finds she has inner strength and rises above the situation. When I read from other reviewers that most of the episodes were like this I thought, no chance they are just nitpicking. Turns out they were right. So from hundreds of plot pitches and ideas from studios around the world somehow the same pattern was chosen time and time again. This is deeply problematic.

A very conflicting type of show. If someone wants to see an even slightly faithful adaptation of Tolkien 's work this is definitely not the way to go. The show has literally nothing to do with the lore, except for a very generic idea of the mythos, the names of some characters and the landmarks-geography.

On the other hand as a generic fantasy drama it has excellent production values, generally good acting (except some obvious shortcomings *cough* Galandriel) great music and an ok plot.

The only reason I award it 3 stars is cause they marketed it as a LOTR show and on that it fails miserably.

The fact that people are rating this based on the religion angle is quite sad. The show has some promising, interesting things that manages to butcher with the maddening, excruciatingly slow pace it forces on the viewer. At times it is so mindnumbingly slow paced you can jump to another chapter by fast forwarding it and still not lose anything of value. The whole story could be told in 3-4 episodes and still have time to properly flesh out every character but it comes at an amazing jaw dropping snail paced 7 episodes. At the last 1 hour and 28 minute (!) episode I wanted to detach my eyes with a hot spoon. Thank god for the skipping button.

And that's all you need to know about this joke of a show.

Edit: After watching the rest of the season, it's become even more abnoxious. Trying to tap into "metoo" movement, mistreating women, it's a cartoon for gods sake it it feels so out of place.

First episode was good enough to believe this could be watchable. Oh how wrong I was. Episode by episode was getting worse and worse by the minute. Political nonsense? Here by the buttload. Cringe acting performances? Present. An idiotic self entitled female "villain" whose motives are beyond ridiculous? Guilty as charged. But, hey at least she has freckles!

If this is the future of the Marvel cinematic universe they have planned they are going to have a very bad time.

Probably worths a 6,5 rating it as a 7 cause it definitely isn't a 6. And that pretty much sums everything about it up. It has a lot of potential but the episodes are too few and the things it wants to do numerous so everything is done in a mediocre way and feels rushed. I found the overall art quality, animation and voice over pretty OK but not without faults. Maybe it would have been better if the plot was a bit simpler and the creators didn't try to touch on so many different aspects of the story.

The show has very good production values, costumes are great, the world is depicted quite nicely and the plot... Well its there mostly, anyway. I kept asking myself why don't they do that, why they don't go there like every 5 minutes especially when the kids grow up and have a huge advantage over the others. The show kept bugging me with little things, how did they build that, how are they weaving clothes with silk, they are blind after all. If you can watch it and not dwell too much in it you will probably like it, I just couldn't.

Why are people giving this movie 8-9 stars and in their "review" they say it isn't perfect, it has flaws etc. But is not that bad? Newsflash movie-lovers, 8-9 means it's a MASTERPIECE. 8-9 is for amazing, timeless classics which will be remembered forever as truly great. This movie surely isn't. The plot holes are still huge, the whole trilogy still makes no sense and it's worse than fan-fiction. Bottom line all 3 movies are trash and Disney will make a LOT of people happy if they brand the whole trilogy non Canon and cast it off as a mistake and lesson learned. On the other hand while I can understand the people who voted , it's not a 1 star movie either. Cinematography is great, effects are once more a marvel to behold and the movie is flawless production wise. Disregard the 8-9 star reviews, disregard the 0-1 star reviews too. The movie is a hollow, blant mess and tries to tie up loose ends since minute 1 and of course fails because of the mess the previous 2 movies were, it was destined to fail since conception. 3 stars from me for the top notch production quality alone. Probably worths a 5 but they destroyed Star wars. Go watch the Mandalorian to get your Star wars fix.
