Phone Booth (2002)
A nothing movie that has everything
Forget all action stunts, great special effects and multi million pound budgets - This has the setting of one street and one phone box but delivers a superb thriller which keeps you hooked and entertained for the full duration of the movie. Clever scripting and a cast that does its job without over elaboration, makes this a "must watch" movie that gives you twists and turns that only seeing will make you believe.
Dead Heat (2002)
Not So Innocent Fun
This is an enjoyable movie with polished acting, humerous one liners and a plot that sees a cop who has retired on medical grounds thrown into a situation that would see his doctor wanting to put him back in the force.
It is not the most original movie you will see, with the now expected cast including, the ex-wife, dodgy brother and cute bad kid BUT throw in a bent jockey, cheap racehorse and the mob and the whole thing ticks along nicely. This movie won't win oscars but will win friends...6.5/10
High Crimes (2002)
Predictable Entertainment
I watched this film with open mind having read the plot. Quite simply what I read was what I got! A routine thriller/courtroom movie with nothing added or taken away. The film skipped along and kept you interested BUT never on the edge of your seat and hooked. The acting is polished as is the overall standard of the movie but that is the problem - we have seen it all before and I am sure we will see another such film again. All in all I would recommend this film when you are looking to fill a empty evening in your diary - but don't break an appointment as you then may be disappointed. 6/10.
