Anatomie (2000)
Seventeen ***'s out of ten
I have seen this film twice now. The first time I saw the dubbed version which left me cold and the second time I saw the subtitled version which gave me chills..in a very good way. Movies are much better in their original form and Anatomie certainly proves that theory. This film is a great nail-biter and I recommend the subtitled version without reservation. Great fun.
Careful (1992)
A must see for all
I saw this at the Sundance Film Festival in 1993 and have been telling all my friends to see this unique film ever since. I'm happy to hear that it is on DVD (my probing into every video store was fruitless)and I can't wait to purchase my very own copy of this brilliant film.
Léolo (1992)
Hide your cat!!!
This was a very good movie about a young lad and how he deals with the trials and tribulations of being the only 'sane' one in a large family. The acting was superb, the set design was terrific, as was the direction and the editing. The 'love scenes' were especially heartfelt. I felt chills when Leolo first gazed upon the piece of liver that he had a fling with, as well as that sexy cat that he shared with his friends. Ok, this was an odd movie but definitely entertaining.
Rawhead Rex (1986)
An odd movie about a walking meatloaf..
This is one hell of an odd movie yet it always makes me think of dear old mom. A few years ago my mother had a chemical peel on her face and for a few days she looked just like the monster in Rawhead Rex, in fact I still call her Rawhead Rex every now and again (just for fun). This picture is good for a laugh but that's about it. Pity this picture stars the wonderful David Dukes but i won't hold that against him.
