Inside the Mind of a Cat (2022)
Ok but spoiled by PC rubbish.
I was expecting more science/facts/studies and fewer opinions, especially a political opinion halfway through, when the cat documentary suddenly turns into a point about how smart women in the Middle Ages were persecuted by churches led by men. Really unnecessary and regardless of whether that's true or not, it's just out of place and felt like those subliminal millisecond messages that are played in-between frames to try to influence your behaviour. Will probably cancel my Netflix subscription after this, as I'm tired of being treated like a subject that needs brainwashing at every opportunity there is.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Massively overrated
I finally started watching this after hearing left and right about how amazing it is. I've watched the first 4 episodes so far and I don't see it. It's quite boring at times, there's about a thousand close-ups on the actress's face which is expressionless, the character build-up isn't impressive (you can find far better in many other series) with the two main characters being quite bland, also the chemistry between them isn't there. I cannot root for Beth because she seems to do things out of spite, she's got a superiority complex and not be a very nice person overall. I'll literally struggle to finish this series and completely disappointed.
Narcos: México (2018)
Lower your standards to enjoy this one.
Incredibly disappointing coming from Narcos producers. The plot is completely dead, it seems like they tried to replicate the Colombian Narcos but with a lot fewer twists of story and plot lines, a lot less character building and interesting dialogues. It drags on and on, this would've made like 1.5 episodes of Narcos Colombia whereas here it's 10 episodes of very little excitement. Characters are totally hard to relate to and not even likeable in my opinion. If in Narcos Colombia, I loved Peña and also got really invested in Pablo's character, his family, his affair, his likes and dislikes and his closest group of sócios to the point where at times I didn't know who I supported during the chase, here I find myself not really caring much about any of the two sides.
Spoiler: watching the second to last episode where Camarena is brutally tortured was the only bit of action but more in an unpleasant way and I didn't really feel any affinity or pity for the character or his family in the same way I would have for any of the Narcos characters (good or bad). Maybe it was my mistake to compare these two series, but I believe this is what the producers did as well as to me this was a wishy-washy version of Narcos, this time with Mexican accents. If during Narcos I was on the edge of my seat, watching Narcos Mexico I was well tucked in my bed trying not to fall asleep.
PS: the only grain of hope was during the Colombian Connection episode, when the Cali cartel and obviously, Pablo show up but this quickly fades away and goes back to the same boring pace. I believe it was a mistake to make this series. They should've stopped after Narcos Colombia.
