Breaking Bonaduce (2005)
How real is the show?
First off, I don't usually watch reality TV shows. However, I was always intrigued by Danny. As an adult, he always came across as funny and glib, and not at all whiny like a lot of the former child stars you see who blame their parents and the industry for their drug & alcohol addictions and deviant behavior.
How real is the show though? Obviously, Danny has a lot of inner demons and addictions to work out. I get the feeling though that a lot of the show is fake, due to the cameras following him around, and the pressure to make his life seem more chaotic than it might really be. Let's face it. If he worked out his problems in 3-4 therapy sessions, the show would be boring. People watch the show to see the "train wreck." Previews already show him shooting himself up with steroids, and going into a "roid" rage in the streets.
Danny is a professional actor. The more crazy and dramatic he acts, the more people will be intrigued to watch his show week after week. I don't deny that we partially see the real Danny, but who knows if he ups the ante on the dramatics to hook in the viewers.
I would be interested to hear what other think about BREAKING BONADUCE.

Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol (1962)
A true Christmas Classic!
As a small child I loved Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol. I looked forward to seeing it each year. I just watched it yesterday on the Cartoon Network, and truly enjoyed hearing the beautiful songs once again as an adult. It's too bad that the major networks don't show this true classic each year at Christmas time. Sometimes it's hard to find. From reading the user comments, it is nice to hear that so many other people enjoy this classic animated Christmas story as much as I do. The story always brings a smile to my face, and some sentimental tears as well!

Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story (2001)
A bloody well good TV Movie!
I truly enjoyed Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story. It showed how the young lads from the depressing industrial city of Shefield England rose to the top of the heavy metal world. Alot of the movie deals with Rick Allen, the groups drummer, overcoming his infamous car crash where he loses his left arm and has to learn a new style of playing drums. Steve Clark was shown as a charismatic, yet insecure lead guitar player, who faces the demons of alcoholism, stage fright, and an overly-critcal father. Joe Elliott was portrayed as the driving force behind the group, a powerful lead singer who would be willing to "cut his gonads off to get out of Shefield." I wish the story would have concentrated a little more about Rick Savage, the groups bass player. After watching the movie, I still knew very little about him. Phil Collen,as a replacement guitarist for the ousted original founder of the band, Pete Willis, was a superb guitar player and had a great sense of humor. Phil and Steve were good together as the "Terror Twins" who partied hardy every night, until Phil decided to quit drinking. "What if I black-out and end up like Rick?
I enjoyed the songs and soundtrack of the movie. I thought the story was well done, considering that it was only a 90 minute TV movie. I know the movie wasn't perfect, yet I thought it was interesting and very powerful!
Leave It to Beaver (1957)
I still enjoy Leave it to Beaver
Leave it to Beaver was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I still enjoy watching it as an adult. What I enjoyed most about the show was the cast of friends that Wally and Beaver had in Mayfield. Eddie Haskell, Larry Mondello, Whitey Whitney, Lumpy Rutherford, Gilbert, Benji, Toey, & Gus the Fireman. The show was a cut above the average sit-com of the late 50's and early 60's. Eddie Haskell as Wally's best bud was the ultimate "Wiseguy," and Larry Mondello was the classic chubby sidekick to "THE BEAV." I just started watching the show again on the TV LAND channel, and it always brings back good memories and a nice chuckle or two.
