Like Father Like Son (1987)
One of the funniest if not the best body switch flicks ever
I saw this back in 87 when it came out and have watched it many many times since then. The two main stars, Dudley and Kirk steal the show. There are so many quotable lines from Like Father Like son. I love when Dudley M. as his son, is walking through the hospital with his interns making the rounds and he has no idea what to do. They interns are all following him as he slowly and awkwardly tries to figure out where to go and when he thinks he's finished the task, he looks at the interns and says, "great rounds". So funny.
I saw some really bad reviews here about this movie: Why? They must have something against really funny movies with great actors.
Jersey Boys (2014)
Oh what a Masterpiece!
I was a little young when these guys were making these awesome hits. I was born in 1961 so by the time I listened to this band they had already moved on. I didn't know some of the songs they wrote were theirs until I saw this movie. After the first time watching Jersey Boys, my wife got us tickets to see Frankie V live in Melbourne Florida. He was spectacular. He sounded so darn good. I just finished watching this movie again on Netflix. My eyes are still watery. I get very emotional from this story. I wish Frankie V. could live in forever. It's going to be very sad when he is no longer making us happy with his talent.
Young & Hungry (2014)
Started out cute and clever, that all changed
I was fishing around Netflix for something new and came across this. I recognized the star of this show from a few episodes of Mom so I gave it a chance. After a few episodes it started reminding me of the worst show ever, 2 Broke Girls. The storylines on this show are so stupid. The laugh track is all over the place. Combine ridiculous scenes from I love Lucy with 2 Broke Girls and you kind of have this show.
It starts off with a girl desperate for a job cooking. She lucks out scoring a position as a personal chef for a millionaire who lives in a high rise apartment building where there are already two other employees working there. A short obnoxious Asian man, just like in 2 Broke Girls, and an annoying black woman, just like Sophy from Broke Girls. These two do absolutely nothing in their jobs so why does this rich man need all this help? The star of the show, Gabi, who would do anything to get this new job, is breaking all the rules of employment within a couple episodes. She sleeps with her boss in the first episode because he was dumped by his high society girlfriend, however the girl friend comes crawling back the next day so he takes her back and they have to keep the one night stand a secret now. So stupid. All I can say is I stopped watching after the 7th episode.
