Shirley Temple's Storybook: Madeline (1960)
Love it
I got this movie off Netflix, and it was great. The movie was a play, and they based it off of "Madeline and the Bad Hat", "Madeline's Rescue", and "Madeline and the Gypsies", only this movie was more original, because the girls and Miss Clavel said their own lines of dialog, and also it was written for TV.
The character of Madeline was a hoot. There was only one small mistake, she had her hair in braids, and it was brown. But that's fine, though. No need to nit-pick. The Miss Clavel was a little over-paranoid, let's say, but she was just being protective of her little girls.
Overall, I liked this movie. So if you want a movie, I suggest this. The ending is really cute, but I won't give it away.
Shirley Temple's Storybook: Winnie-the-Pooh (1960)
Creepy
I got the DVD that contained this episode off of Netflix, and I saw a sneak peek to see if I would like it, but no. It freaked me out. All those puppets. (shudders) I like the puppets for the show "The Book of Pooh" better because that is a present-day show, and they are also puppets, not marionettes. Puppets are not scary at all. If anyone remembers "Welcome to Pooh Corner", this is what it is like: Scary and Creepy.
I can just judge just by the beginning of the film. When I saw Pooh singing, I had to shut my eyes because he looked so creepy. And that voice he had. That is not Pooh Bear. The only people who can get Pooh to sound just right are Sterling Holloway and Jim Cummings. So, just be my guest if you want to see this. I'm not stopping you, I'm just putting my two sense in, and saying it's creepy and will give you nightmares.
Here's another tip: The Disney Pooh is so much better.
