Good cast, dull story and directing
2 April 2020
I watched this movie during the Corona lockdown of 2020. Due to two weeks of confinement to my home the bar for being entertained was pretty low but still this movie failed to achieve even that. The cast was actually not that bad, professional actors which are regionally well known but unfortunately very uninspiring story and directing on the part of Anita Lackenberger.

Interesting movie concerning a very important topic
9 March 2014
The director of "Macht Engerie" documents several examples of how our civilizations energy use impacts the environment and ultimately ourselves.

He shows us several examples such as tar sands in Canada, the consequences of Fracking, atomic energy in France, large hydro power projects and also some positive examples like the use of renewable energy in Murau / Styria and how small scale photovoltaic have a big impact in Burkina Faso.

I recommend this movie!

Well made, fun and very educational!

Excellent documentary about our global financial system
15 November 2008
Let's make money is a very well made documentary which focuses on how money is made and distributed by investors, corporations and the rich elite through the global financial system.

I largely agree with the standpoints which are communicated in this movie, however I must admit that it biased towards the "liberal anti- globalisation" camp. It also tends to polarize between the poor, innocent and exploited developing world and the rich and greedy west. All in all this view of the world is probably correct, however reality is more complex and the movie does not mention any specifics in this regard.

Nonetheless, very interesting and very enlightening. Definitively worth watching.

Good action movie, overall mediocre
24 September 2008
Just came back from seeing this movie. For an action flick it's OK I suppose. Good acting, great special effects. Story is... well as one would expect from a Batman movie. Okayish with a fair amount of cheesiness and very shallow at times.

There's nothing really in the story which makes you strain the thing between your ears. Just sit back and be "wowed" by all the bright and wonderful special effects and horrible villains.

That's all fine by me and pretty much what I would expect from a Batman movie. What I honestly don't understand how this movie made it to #3 in the IMDb. Seems very out of place. In my mind, it shouldn't even make the top 100.

Excellent Movie!

This movie is an excellent documentary about the current state of our planet and the direction mankind is heading. I feel very strongly about environmental issues and have developed some sensitivity and understanding of the topics covered in the movie.

The persons interviewed in the movie have a profound understanding of what they are talking about. The movie is very intelligently made and visualized.

People who at least feel sympathy towards environmental issues will find this movie to be highly interesting and enlightening. On the other hand I think the movie is to intellectual and complex to introduce the covered topics to environmental newbies who I guess could find the movie dull due to a lack of understanding.
