Retribution (2023)
Awfully predictable and awful
So with Liam in a movie like this, I question his intelligence with regards to role selection more than anything else.
Taken it is not. A half a$$ed attempt at robbing every cliche from every rubbish movie ever. Nope. Not even that bad. Worse. The plot holes, lack of ingenuity, low budget and complete lack of any substance makes this the worst movie I saw this year. I hate reality TV but think I would have preferred to watch Love Island. Liam should hang his head in shame because even an intellectually challenged chimpanzee could see this is a shocker.
I'm off Liam. If he thinks a movie like this was worth making then I wish him the best in his retirement. Soo fricken bad.....
Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (2023)
We'll below par.
Pretty sad sad that a full year after being slapped by Wil Smith, this was the best he could come up with. The rather average joke he told at the Oscars was better than any gag in this routine.
So much drivel that doesn't land with a punchline.
This act is more of a rant. Where he makes a statement. Repeats said statement and adds another line. Then repeats said statement with a bit more venom again. Continue and repeat.
I did learn that he has a daughter named Lola. He has a few stories about her that I'll never remember. They aren't funny.
I watched this to see what he came up with after the Oscars. It's like he just used the late night talk show gags that went around at the time.
But hey, some people like it. Good luck to them.
Nine Perfect Strangers: Wheels on the Bus (2021)
Fawlty Towers ......
This episode was more Fawlty Towers than anything else. What could go wrong.......
Intelligent people making ludicrous decisions. I just want this series to end now. I'm hoping for some massive breakthrough in the final but at this stage I expect to be disappointed.
The Danger of Positive Thinking (2018)
Oh so bad. You must watch it.
Very weird movie where it seems the parents and children are all the same age. Casting ages is only the first problem.
Acting ability, or lack there of is the second problem.
Script. Problem.
Ad Astra (2019)
Can I please have a refund
This movie is woefully bad and an insult to your intelligence. I get that it's a drama in space setting. I get that it's a slow burn. But there is not one plausible plot line in the whole movie.
I did think I'd give it a 5. 5 for how good it looks, however the plot and more especially the plot holes do away with that idea.
Others have commented on the plot flaws, and they are on point.
What makes me saddest when I see a movie like this is when I realise how much it cost. How are people in charge of so much money unable to see how ridiculous this is. It's like they have no concept of truth.
It makes me sad that an actor of BP status would sign up to this.
It makes sad that I was looking forward to seeing this so much, and now I feel cheated. I want my money back.
Argh! So bad.
Tom Segura: Disgraceful (2018)
Unfunny, unoriginal and lazy writing
I'm happy to watch a comedy set for an hour or so and get a few laughs. That's not a big ask. I got nothing from Tom. Maybe 12/13 year olds might find this funny. Sloppy performance and lazy jokes about Parkinson's. pfft.
The Grand Tour (2016)
4 stars for the cars only.....occasional giggle....zerograteful ness
Season 2 Episode 1.
The test between the Lambo, NSX and Rimac could have been fantastic, but the feature story gave us little to no info about the cars, how they operate, specs, times or data. Just some rubbish fluff piece in which we learn (again) that super cars don't ravel well around the tight streets of European cities, and LAmbos have troubles on steep drives. Seen it all before. Yawn. Boring.
The climax of the piece is Hammonds crash in the Rimac. No mention or thanks to the emergency personnel. No apology to Rimac. Arrogant much? Hardly surprising given Clarkesons track record, and the reason he was sacked from TG.
There was nothing in this show I found original or entertaining. The cars are awesome though. Unfortunately, the "car show" didn't tell me too much about them.
On the other hand, Top Gear with new presenters is going from strength to strength. Perhaps the real skill of the show was the back of house staff, cause with GT I haven't been impressed in a season and one episode.
