Proves they could make them as bad in the 1980's as they could in the 1950's!

When watching this film I asked two questions...

1. WHY IS THING LIKE A BAD 50'S HORROR FLICK?

2. WAS THIS A TAX WRITE OFF?

But when ya come down to it..it's so bad it's funny!

"Ballonists" crash land on a island no one has "charted" which is inhabited by Lepoard Skin Bikinnied women called Amazons!

If that wasn't bad enough the Practice "witchcraft", aka dancing with fake snakes, and jiggling their bodies alot, lol!

Then..they run into crazed guy left from a crashed sailing ship...who offer them a chance to go to "the house" after a cusomary groping of the Lepoard Skin Bikinnied women called Amazons!

Soon thereafter the "Ballonists" are taken to an OBVIOUSLY fake jail facility whre they meet Jayson- a crazed sailor who has been imprisoned for 17 years and spouts alot of Poe for no reason.

Soon the "Ballonists" meet Mrs. Frankenstein! She explains to them that the assistant to Doc Frankie is still alive after 200 years due to some osrt of "blood transufions" from the Lepoard Skin Bikinnied women called Amazons and Jayson.

One of the "Ballonists" is a scientist(Of course) and gets wrapped up in helping Mrs. Frankenstein and the 1/2 alive assistant to Doc Frankie as the floating head of Doc Frankenstein, promisng the Lepoard Skin Bikinnied women called Amazons, "The power!! The power!!'

Of course, for no reason, they are also making "mutants"(Guy in caps with sunglasses, that seem to be "gump-like")

I won't give the ending away, you'll just have to watch this sucker!!

It plays like an Ed Wood movie, and would have belived it was one, except for the fact he died in 1978!

Rent it, you won't be disappointed!!

This film is unbelievably Cheezy, yet fun!
16 October 2002
My pal Ryan and I recently rewatched this "golden stinkburger".

This film is better for laughs than for scares. We informally kept track and almost 1/2 of this film is flashbacks from Friday the 13th one!!

Of course this is your typical teenager go to "counsel" at a summer camp, and of course it's next to Crytal Lake "camp blood" where all those kids were killed "five years ago"

Well we get the usual no Jason for half the film and the "fake" scares and teens hopping in and out of bed.

When Jason mercifully comes onto the scene(by the time he shows up your almost grateful he's there to stop all this dumb stuff)about halfway into the film.

Jason did grow up really fast in five years, must be all those bugs he eats in the woods!! But why is he wearing a pillowcase with only one eyehole? Ryan and I could never figure it out..but it was hilarious!!

From here on it gets side splitting funny!!! Jason has machette problems, everytime he kills someone it's with the flat (non blade) side of the machette. Man, is this guy good or what???

Jason, of course, has a limping problem, and thus walks/runs kinda slow. In yet another scene from this ultimate in werid cinema, he "chases" ( I wouldn't even dignify it as running) a gal for alomst 15 mins, at times she STOPS and waits for him to catch up!! Nice when your victim thinks of you like this...

Of course the ending, where our heroine get trapped in Jason's hideout and dresses in Jason's mothers sweater in order to delude him so she can escape. While doing this she stands in front of the decapated head of Jason mother which he has lovingly preserved via Norman Bates.

Instead of running when she has him confused, she keeps yapping and mioves away so he can see she's fooling him!! I guess this was so the "boyfreind" could show up and "kill" Jason.

Of course, as any "Friday" fan knows, Jason never dies!!

It's worth a rental!!

The Omega Man (1971)
Such a BAD movie from such a GREAT novel..
14 October 2002
While I do like this film as a "bad" movie. It's a shame such a great novel (I am Legend, by Richard Matheson) had to be sacraficed in the process. The only aspects of the novel left in this film is Robert Nevele's name and the city it takes place in.

Usually Heston is a good actor, or at least compentent. But in this fractrured flick, his acting is on par with William Shatner...HAMMY!

Seems Nevele has a real problem driving, throughout this film, everytime he's in a car he crashes it. My Pal Ryan noted, "Well seems like he doesn't get where he's going until he crashes..." Good call Ryan.

Another scene Heston's shooting some "zombies" that are using a catapult, we noticed he was really proficent at shooting up the catapult. But later in the film the leader of the "zombies" tells him that in that attack he had killed 3 of them. Must have been splinters from the wooden catapult....

While watching we are told it has been about 2 and half years since the plague...but in one scene Heston is cooking hot dogs...even freezing hot dogs, meat doen't last more than about a year even frozen, so where did he get the meat?

Heston seems to be in really good shape for an almost middle aged guy, he says in one scene that he had done a 3min50sec mile. Wow, he broke the land speed record!! But, as my pal Ryan pointed out, if he's going THAT fast, why is he only mildly jogging in the scene?

Heston seems to have some very mixed up priorities...ok he wants to kill off the "zombies", ok, and they only come out at night. Why does he hunt them during the day when every night they hang out in front of his house calling his charater's name..as we noted..why doesn't he shoot them down then? Can he only shoot at inanimate objects at night?

Ok, we belive Heston when he tells us that he injected himself with the "vaccine" to make himself immune to the plague. But in every injection scene in this film the fluid squirts into the air from the point of injection. While I profess not to be a medical expert, every injection I have ever had goes into the body and not into the air.

Please don't let these comments prevent you from watching a great "B" film. The age(Early 70's) of the film only enhances it's fun! Defiantely worth a rental!

This is fun for cheapie!!!!

This is the ultimate "get your freinds togeter and yell at movie"!! Agreed the effects are cheap, the acting bad, and the "jet" motorcycles. But it's endering in it's ineptness, defiately worth a rental.
