The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021)
Surprisingly a good movie very well acted...
I don't know why but I've never written a cruis a review after singa movie movie on Amazon prime before, but I really liked, The life of Louis Wain.
It certainly was a different type of movie, and it ran a little long at times but I really enjoyed the acting and the actual subtitles for the cats when they meowed...
I really liked the fact it was a. Piece and and it was a true story.. I thought the director captured the life of this unique man in a very special and unique way.
Queen of the South (2016)
5alk about fun... in a violent way.
I really really like this show. I've seen the 1st 4 seasons, and I'm totally into it. It's hight action,
and high drama and I can't even imagine what the body Count is.
I really like the actors and the characters really funny, but ha ds down my favorite character is King George. He's funny yet so violent. Love it.
I binged the 1st 4 seasons, so I picked up on a few things. There's some funny cliches/saying, and a lot of references to Scarface... Hell it even uses the same Not the same but very similar and totally a tribute too Scarface.
Definitely enjoyed it.... Hopefully my wife will forgive me for locking myself in the bedroom to watch 4 seasons.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
Aaron Sorkin is a modern day Shakespeare.
Great writing, wonderful Directing. A truly quality and very important film.
Den of Thieves (2018)
It's certainly not Heat
I should tell you first off, that Heat is one of my favorite all-time movies.. Well directed, incredibly acted and a great storyline. This Den Of Thieves in my opinion seems to be like Heat, I'm only halfway through it, but I don't necessarily see the intrigue that Heat brought. It's okay... But it certainly not Heat... Even though it tries to be.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Sandler!
Adam Sandler in a serious role. He delivers the goods! The movie was a little hectic, but his performance is amazing.
I agree with you rent one reviewer, my wife would have hated this, I'm glad I watch this by myself. It's a total guy movie!
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Back tracking? I don't care!
For a few years, I've heard about this show, but I've never watched it because there's other quality programming that my wife and I watch, but I found myself alone and laid up this weekend(Long story) and I binged watched season 3 I haven't even seen season one or two, but just by what I saw in season 3 and getting hooked like I did, I am gladly going to backtrack and watch season 1 and season 2. An amazing. piece. The acting is great,
the writing is fresh. I can't wait to watch all three seasons.
Oh, and for the record... I cannot wait for season 4.!
The Equalizer 2 (2018)
Plain and Simple
This story is very good, but Denzel is an extraordinary actor. He gets better as time goes on.
Now it makes me want to go back and watch the first Equalizer, because this one was very entertaining.
Mindhunter (2017)
I feel like I'm an actual FBI member for that behavioral team.
I'm just starting season 2 right now and I've gone through two episodes,
It's amazing to me that this season especially is really focusing on the behavioral part of the killer.
It amazes me that those agents can go home and have normal lives, because I'm sure they suffer some sort of PTSD when they interview those killers.
What makes it so scary, is if they use actual killers, and actual victims... It's real life, it's gritty, it's scary and it's very good.
The Old Man & the Gun (2018)
Robert Redford, consistently a class act.
If this is Robert Redford's last film, I got to admit over the decades, he has starred in some pretty quality films which seemed to get better as far as his performances go as the years went on, and this last though not the most fast-paced film in the world, was very entertaining and a great way to end your career. Cheers to you Robert Redford and thanks for the decades of entertaining us.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Better than most...
If you a Quentin Tarantino fan, or you really got into, True Romance... See this!
Black Summer (2019)
Good show... It reminds me of TWD for the first three seasons. Before it sucked.
I have only seen one episode, but it reminds me how good the first three or four seasons of The Walking Dead were, and then It got to comic bookie for me, so I stopped watching it. I will continue to watch the Black Summer and see how it developed.
I thought it was pretty impressive how the main characters all got together by the end of episode 1. Looking forward to watching the rest of the season
Buried (2010)
WOW!
I couldn't sleep, and this is the first time I've ever written a review for a movie, but I watched
Buried at 1:15 a.m., and I can tell you right now that I will not sleep for the rest of the night.
It was amazing, that literally one actor in one location pulled off this traumatic situation. It was very good filmmaking, and it really leaned on my all-time fear of being buried alive.
It was very real, and very, I repeat very traumatic. If you get a chance see this movie, I promise you you will not forget it soon, if ever.
House of Cards (2013)
In today's TV Landscape... H.O.C.'s is a very welcome GAME CHANGER!
House of Cards was so good, that it has encouraged me to write me first ever IMDb Review/Summary.
I started this program because of the repeated word of mouth it is generating. All I can say, is that there are few shows in my lifetime that have me salivating for more after I mainlined 13 Episodes in four nights!
The story line makes my previous favorite political drama, West Wing, seem like... Disneyland. House Of Cards is a top quality production, with characters you will get to know and love and/or hate intimately. The actors are outright, spot-on stellar. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright OWN their characters! The supporting cast is as strong as you will see.
What I really loved about this program, is that besides one incident, you don't see guns firing. It is smart. It is intense. It is gripping. However, it does not expose you to flagrant violence that you see on 98% of the programs out there.
The more I watched this program, the more I realized that netflix has changed the landscape of television viewing. Initially I doubted they could pull off such a fine program. The production, talent and story line meets, if not exceeds anything you have seen on HBO. AND... You can watch it at your pace, which I will forewarn you, will increase after the first episode.
I put this program in my Top 3... It belongs with The Sopranos and The Wire. I might even put it in the top position. It is THAT GOOD!
