Babysitter stalked by a homicidal maniac movie. We've seen this story many times before, which almost makes it like a parody, but I enjoyed it. The cinematography, music, technical qualities, etc. were all good, as with most Lifetime TV movies, which made this very watchable. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED that spunky black girl, the babysitter's best friend, who comes over to help "protect" her against the menacing killer. She provides some unintentional humor with her lively and somewhat sassy personality. I loved her "don't mess with me!" attitude as she is confronting the killer who is coming at her with a butcher knife, and she hops around, barefoot and wearing very short shorts, defending herself with a corkscrew, saying "C'mon! Is that the best you got? C'mon!"

I don't get the appeal of this film. It is slow moving and boring. The black and white cinematography is good, but that's about it. Some great closeups of the tile floor she is mopping, if that's your thing.

I wanted to like this film, and some of it is very good, but there are many flaws. The best thing about this is the performance by Eric Dean as "Adult Jake". James McCabe as "Adult Kyle" is very handsome to look at, but weak as an actor. There is also a lack of chemistry between the two lead actors. My main complaints are the repetitive lines in script, slow pace, awkward & long pauses, and inadequate photography. Several key scenes just drag. Too often, the camera seems too far back from the actors and gave the feel of a filmed play. There needed to be more medium shots and closeups. This film is just "OK" and pleasant for an LGBT romantic drama.

This film is a delight. Good production values and good, clean fun. Gene Wilder carries the film well. I am a 60-year-old adult, and I watched this to temporarily forget all the troubles and worries of our current world. This was just the ticket. Recommended for all ages.

Sometimes goofy, slapstick movies like this can be great fun. This type of film is today's equivalent of Walt Disney family films of the 1950s, 60s., and 70s. It would never win an Academy Award ... but oh, it's so enjoyable!!! Jim Varney as Ernest is a hoot. A truly gifted comic actor.

This is a handsome production, but my main complaint is that the Scottish dialects were terribly difficult to understand. I had to turn on the closed captioning to understand what was going on. Some kids (and adults) will squirm and get bored with this. With the extensive use of authentic Scottish idioms and old English slang, this was a chore to watch.

"Emelie" starts out as intriguing, then falls apart in the third act. I agree with some of the other reviews alluding to this. Also, the last part of the film is so poorly LIT, it is difficult to see what is going on. Satisfactory for passing your time if nothing else is available on Netflix.

Not bad for a made-for-TV movie rated TV-14 on Netflix. I had completely forgotten that Patty McCormick was in this film until the end titles rolled. She had previously played the evil child in "The Bad Seed" (1956).

Enjoyable family film from Disney. I like movies of many different genres, from supernatural thrillers to the classics. This pleasant film reminded me of one of the Disney films from the 1960s with a simple premise. Good use of computer graphics to create a "giant" cockroach and a Daddy longlegs. Recommended for age 6 and up.

Not the greatest thriller I have ever watched, but neither is it the worst. It held my attention throughout.

Strong, athletic female lead. Nice to see that instead of a woman depicted as a meek, trembling weakling, completely dependent upon a man for protection.

The viewer may have to look away during some gruesome, violent scenes. Well made film, worth a look.

This movie is a confused, jumbled mess. It looks like the dialogue was mostly improvised on the spot. Worst thing I've sat all the way through in a long time. The 12 year old teeny bopper girls are downright annoying. The visual effects are headache inducing. The opening credits flash by so quickly that I had to look up on IMDb to confirm that I saw Timothy Hutton's name. Do yourself a favor and skip this. It's awful.

I enjoyed this creepy home invasion thriller. HEY! A SHOUT-OUT TO the FILM-MAKERS OF THIS - I just watched it on Netflix, and I'm not sure if it was intentional or a digital error in the Netflix copy of the video ... but some ending credits appear about 8 minutes before the actual ending, and it looks like an abrupt, bad ending, and many people would turn it off in disgust. But then there is about 5 MORE MINUTES OF THE MOVIE. Maybe THAT'S the reason so many people are PANNING this movie in their reviews. That false ending needs to be FIXED - people are missing the real ending!

I would be interesting to know if the film makers did this intentionally, or if it's a glitch in Netflix's copy of the film??? Whichever - that ending needs to be fixed!

I caught this on YouTube soon after the great Jerry Lewis passed away. I always love to read the "backstories" about films, so I read about it in Wikipedia and IMDb before I watched it. This was the comedy team's final film, and the two barely spoke to each other off camera during the shoot. You can't tell that from the finished film, because the chemistry between the two is there. Because the version I saw on YouTube turned off the audio whenever there was a song (for music copyright reasons), I can't comment on the music, but I am sure that it was good. Enjoyable, frothy comedy.

This remake of M-G-M's classic "The Women" (1939) is a beautifully produced, glossy Technicolor musical. Fans of the classic original non-musical film will be disappointed. Joan Collins is one of the best things about it, as Crystal Allen, perfectly cast as the vixen "other woman". It is also an opportunity to see a young and handsome Leslie Nielsen, who later found unexpected popularity as a comic actor, beginning with "Airplane" (1980). I've heard about this film for decades and only wanted to see it out of curiosity. I finally found it on YouTube, and my curiosity is satisfied. I much prefer the original "The Women".

This was produced in 1956, when musicals were falling out of favor with the general public. I would classify this as more of a "semi-musical", as most of the songs are in the context of the characters seeing a performance in a stage show.

This is the first romantic comedy I have watched in a LONG time - maybe 3 years. I enjoyed this. I came across this completely at random on Netflix, and wanting a change of pace from thrillers, horror films, mysteries, etc., I was delighted with this. Jennifer Aniston carries this film with ease, supported by several others, most notably Kevin Costner and Shirley MacLaine. I've been so disappointed in most movies on Netflix lately, I have turned them off after 10 minutes. This was different - I made it all the way through the film and I can actually recommend it. Not a great film, but a good one.

This episode of "All in the Family" is a prime example of this show at its funniest - when Archie interacts with an African American. He is called in the IRS for questions about his tax returns. While in the waiting room, a black man accidentally bumps into him, and Archie fusses at him. Then when Archie is called into the tax examiner's office, it is the same man he fussed at in the waiting room. Archie's look when he sees the tax examiner is priceless! As are the direction, writing, and performances. Don't miss this episode.

Creaky old film, produced when Hollywood was still adjusting to talking pictures. Most notable today as Bette Davis's first film. It is interesting to see Bette portraying the GOOD SISTER. (Ms. Sidney Fox plays the title role.) Hollywood was still trying to figure out what to do with Bette, and her appearance in this film is very dowdy and in great need of eyebrow tweezers.

At the time, Universal was a low budget studio which would soon find enormous success with monster films ("Dracula" and "Frankenstein" were also released in 1931.)

This film is also notable for an early screen appearance by Humphrey Bogart. Both Bogart and Davis would soon be released from their contracts at Universal and become huge stars at Warner Bros.

This film is definitely a curiosity item and worth one viewing for serious film historians.

So-so film noir, notable for Los Angeles locations and period cars. Vince Edwards made a great impression as the lead in the previous year's "Murder by Contract" (1958), another low budget film noir. This was his less memorable followup. Shot in seven days and released by Columbia Pictures, this is for fans of the actor, who later became a star on TV's "Ben Casey". This film would be best on a double bill at a drive-in theatre paired with another film noir cheapie.

This is an effective, enjoyable low budget crime film shot in 6 days. It is carried by the handsome and charismatic Vince Edwards, in a role before he achieved TV stardom as Dr. Ben Casey in the early 1960s. I came across this completely at random on YouTube and it was a pleasant surprise. This is the type of B-movie that thrived on the youth-oriented, highly profitable drive-in movie circuit. I recommend this.

On YouTube, I was lucky to come across an excellent, clear, high resolution print of this film. I see that there are several other poor quality, scratched, blurry copies of it on YouTube, which is what happens when a film slips into public domain. It gets shown widely on TV and the prints get old and worn out, and then anyone can transfer a bad copy of it to DVD and legally sell it, with the statement "guaranteed excellent quality recording", but what they don't tell you is that the SOURCE PRINT was bad. I see several other user reviews that complain about the poor quality of a DVD release. For those of you who are very enthusiastic about this film, you'll be happy to find out that a high quality print does exist. Just keep looking for it.

I found the film a little too long and slow moving, but it had great atmosphere and the musical score was eerie and effective. Fans of Edward G. Robinson will especially enjoy his fine performance, which carries the film. I did not LOVE this film as some other user reviewers have stated. I "LIKED" it and it was worth watching once.

Today, Joan Bennett is best remembered as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the mistress of Collinwood on the Gothic supernatural hit "Dark Shadows" (1966-71). During the exhaustive pre-production phase of "Gone With the Wind" (1939), thousands of actresses were interviewed and tested. Joan Bennett was one of the few who were seriously considered and actually made a screen test, which still survives today. In her portrayal of a conniving bitch in "Scarlet Street", we get a glimpse of how Joan would have been had she played southern vixen Scarlett O'Hara. Had producer David O. Selznick gone for star power rather than interpretation, Joan Bennett might have been cast. Joan would have been just "adequate" as Scarlett, but not perfect. It's a credit to Selznick's remarkable intuition that he took a huge risk by casting Vivien Leigh, a British actress virtually unknown to American audiences, as Scarlett. "Scarlet Street" is a well-made film that I would recommend. Edward G. Robinson and Duryea also give strong performances.

This is very much a downer of a movie. This is not an LGBT-themed movie for anyone expecting a good time. Both Derek Jacobi and Daniel Craig give good performances, and the film has good production values. But ... this is a dreary, dull and plodding film. Daniel Craig took quite a risk portraying the self-destructive and amoral lover. From seeing him in this, one would never guess that he would be the next actor to portray James Bond in "Casino Royale" in 2006. An art house type of movie that is definitely not for everyone's taste.

I just watched this episode again and really LAUGHED. Bea Arthur is great. I remember watching this episode 45 years ago, but I was too young to understand some of the references. Watching it again, now I get them. I read somewhere that Bea Arthur made such an impact as Maude, right after this episode was first broadcast in 1971, a CBS executive telephoned another, urging him to sign Bea Arthur for a spin off series. There had never before been a woman character like Maude on TV. Bravo, Bea Arthur!

I had never even heard of this film. I came across it on YouTube and I really enjoyed it. I understand it had been kept out of circulation and unavailable for years because some did not like its subject matter. I'm happy this film is available again.

Well worth watching.
