The Final Destination (2009)
Death is getting old, and unimaginative
OK, i was going to give this a 4, but i didn't see this in actual 3D, so i think i'll give it an extra point for that.
Now this is the FINAL destination, and ''death saved the BEST for 3D'' Yea right, this film was so rushed and so painfully predictable i was only feeling tense at the very beginning before anything kicked off, when the crash occurred and all hell was breaking loose, i was thinking back to FD 2 and realising how crap this is compared to that preminition, this is meant to be the last one, and it just didn't feel like a Final destination movie! The survivors from the race track went off separately, and there was hardly ANY interaction between them at all, which made the other films good.
As this was the last one i was expecting great twists, but they're weren't any, and the kills, well they didn't put me on the edge of my seat, lets put it that way, and their weren't any memorable original deaths in this movie either that i can remember. There was nothing special about the story of this movie, and i didn't feel on edge at all, OK i know i wasn't watching it in 3D, but i don't think that really justifies it completely in my opinion. Oh and the characters were pretty obnoxious and rather unrealistic, the main character lacked the unique performance the other 3 actors delivered too. The climax in the mall was kinda rushed and was made to look more spectacular in the trailer.
Although this was probably a great 3D experience, the film itself was generally bad, bearing in mind it's meant to be the final one. I'm sorry to say this ended in a low rather than a high, and it was almost as if Death couldn't be bothered with this movie either.
Gnaw (2008)
Could of Been so much better...
I love British Horror's, and i was really looking forward to this film, but looking at the acting, well, i was disgusted with it. I have not seen such dry acting in a long time until now. The characters were predictable, bland, and most of all annoying. I wish they had better deaths, oh yes, and they were tension and gore free also. The most gore seen was with a pair of pliers and a tongue. The main Villain, wore a creepy hooded cloak, with an animal as a mask type thing (you'll just have to see it) He did look quite creepy i guess. Also what annoyed me with this film, was the final scene, there was no relationship shown between the two cannibals of this movie, and the final scene was way too quick and unsatisfying. They could of done a lot more with this movie, with the characters, the atmosphere and location. It was a real shame. If your after a lot of tension and gore, DO NOT watch this film.
