A Masterpiece!
14 June 2023
This complete rip off of Jaws 2 but it feels more like Orca: The Killer Whale. The Last Shark is the ultimate bad shark movie. The music almost sounds like The Untouchables over ultra super slow motion splashing water. It tries to be Jaws 2 and rightfully so. This is the real deal. The real Jaws 3!

Yes they use the same shots over and over again. Yes it is supposed to be a thriller. Yes you might even fall asleep. I saw this when I was little and rediscovered it recently. I have watched it five or six times. What you might call boring, I call relaxing. Like a lullaby, this symphony of cinema will not disappoint. If you cut this film some slack and out it in its right place: among Shark movies....and add in the fact that this was released theatrically and is the first official non Jaws shark knock off movie, you will see its influence on the entire genre. It is not to be missed. Keep in mind...I never said it was good.

COMPELLING CRIME DRAMA
25 January 2020
The original 3 part mini-series still holds up. Still waiting for this masterpiece to come to dvd. Its available on VHS and dvd in some countries. Every version I have on dvd is a mediocre copy at best. I have seen this many times Nd recently watched it.with my wife for the first time. She is completely into Netflix series and streaming. Always critical of films or series I think are great. But she was surprised at this one. She loved it. A total classic. John Goodman has a small role. Paul Sorvino is great as the racist sheriff. Billy Dee Williams is great. Brad Davis stands out as Sonny, the most complex character in the show. Keith Carradine plays Foxy Funderburke, a serial killer who preys on teen runaway boys. The three parts take place in three different time periods. This is epic storytelling that will captivates are you as three generations of police chiefs become intertwined in the unsolved murders. Charlton Heston plays Hugh Holmes. You will enjoy it. Every part is better than the one before it.

Once Upon A Review Of Hollywood
20 January 2020
The movie does take its sweet time for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. And then suddenly I found myself not wanting it to end. Luckily, the movie still had about 25 minutes left. I dont mind slow paced films or character studies- this film is both. During the movie there are several fictional film scenes that give a sense of the Hollywood era gone by. They contain imagery that is dated to perfection. My only criticism is that a few of these are a bit too long. I found myself wanting to zone out. Leonardo delivers a superb performance but it's Brad Pitt who steals the show. He's as charming as ever. I watched this movie after the hype and anti-hype...reading most of the reviews....even the ones that contained the spoilers. The good news is that the film is so long that I completely forgot about the spoilers. Watch it for yourself. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Reviews are only opinions. Critics are only people. But this is not just another movie. Good or bad, the film is unique, and that makes it worth seeing.

This show is absolutely the best show ever. Meeno Peluce and Jon-Erik Hexum are perfect together. A classic.
