Inspirational for LGBTQ People of Any Age!
29 April 2021
This show helped me to finally come out of the closet at 25 years old. A very real depiction of the journey that gay teens take to accept themselves. Acting is all really good, especially by the lead, Michael Cimino, who carries an important role with a ton of dignity. Highly recommend!

Home Improvement: No, No, Godot (1995)
Season 4, Episode 21

Yes, Yes, Amazing Episode!
2 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This episode of Home Improvement has Tim, Jill, Al, and Ilene planing on going to a showing of the play "No, No, Godot". One tiny complication though is that Tim has hockey tickets for that night as well. Tim and Al try to sell the tickets right before they meet Jill and Ilene at the play, but a police officer catches them and arrests them for scalping tickets. Tim and Al go to jail while Jill and Ilene wonder why Tim and Al aren't at the play. Jill expects that Tim went to the hockey game, but Ilene is very shocked and worried that Al went with Tim, which is of course something you wouldn't expect of Al. In the side plot, Wilson looks over the kids while Tim and Jill are gone and he tries to make sure that Randy and Brad don't go to a party that they wanted to go to. Tim calls home from jail, informs Wilson about his and Al's situation, then an usher at the play is informed through Wilson via phone, and tells Jill and Ilene about Tim and Al's being in the slammer. Jill and Ilene bail Tim and Al out, and that's the end.

Of course, the endless humor that is throughout the episode while Tim and Al are in jail is unparalleled. Characters going to jail has always been a tried-and-true plot in sitcoms, but once again, Home Improvement's jail episode FAR surpasses any other jail episode in any other show. Not to mention that Wilson baby-sitting the kids is TREMENDOUSLY funny and Jill is A LOT funnier than usual while her and Ilene are waiting for Tim and Al!

Overall, this is one of the show's best episodes for sure, and it takes an established plot line and turns it into a simply beyond-belief-of-how-extraordinary-it-is episode! But, what else would you expect from Home Improvement? Nothing but the absolute BEST that television will EVER OFFER!!! 10/10!

Greatness on a Hot TV Show's Episode!
23 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This episode of Home Improvement shows a lot of defining baseline character traits for Tim and Jill. It shows Tim's jealousy and it shows Jill's faithfulness. Tim tries to put a satellite dish on the roof, but is easily distracted when one of Jill's male teachers comes over to the house to help her prepare for a job interview. Tim suspects that the male friend, whose name is Rondall, wants to do "something else" with Jill besides help her for the interview. He becomes jealous and spies on the two of them throughout the whole episode, when eventually, Tim's paranoia is proved correct when Rondall tries to make a move on Jill. Jill remains faithful to Tim as she immediately boots Rondall out of the house.

This episode shows Tim's jealous character trait for the first time in the series, and it was nice to see how faithful and loyal Jill is to Tim. Not to mention, this episode is better than the first three episodes in the series combined. It's indescribable how hilarious this episode is and, for the first time in the series, showed just how amazing this show was going to be! A must watch! 10/10 EASILY!!!

Home Improvement: Yule Better Watch Out (1991)

Home Improvement's First Christmas!
22 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Christmas episodes were always one of Home Improvement's specialties and this first one is no different. There are three different, hilarious, plots in this episode. I'll start with the most minor one: Randy has to prepare for a Christmas play at school and Jill buys him a ridiculous, but hysterical, costume to wear. The second storyline that is in between is the storyline of Tim competing in the yearly Christmas lighting contest against Doc Johnson. The third, best, and most focused on storyline was that Brad and Randy tell Mark that Santa Claus is dead, and Mark then has many doubts about Santa's existence, leading to many laughs.

Home Improvement's first Christmas episode isn't the best of all of them, but it is a remarkable episode that will get you into the holiday spirit with lots of laughs and joy. Great "introduction" to some of the series' future Christmas masterpieces, and one of Season 1's best episodes for sure! 10/10 easily!

Home Improvement: Off Sides (1991)
Season 1, Episode 3

Third Episode's A Charm!
6 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Off Sides is the third episode of Home Improvement. It is the best episode of the first three episodes, plain and simple. You could tell that the actors were really getting into a groove after three episodes and overall I think you'll agree that this is the best episode of the first three.

The episode begins with Tim and the boys watching football when Jill reminds Tim that that night they were supposed to go out for a fancy dinner. She calls a magician to babysit the kids while her and Tim are gone because it was last minute and they couldn't get a real babysitter. Tim reluctantly leaves the football game to go to dinner and secretly brings a radio to listen to the game at the restaurant. Jill finds out, gets mad, and when they go home Tim talks to Wilson and the problem is all fixed. The episode ends with Tim and Jill dancing in the backyard.

After an amazing pilot episode and a not as good as the pilot but still great second episode, Off Sides defeats both of the first two episodes easily. Tim trying to listen to the game on the radio at dinner without Jill finding out is indescribably hilarious and the subplot of the magician babysitting the kids was also hysterical! This episode is definitely better than the first two episodes and I think that after watching all three, you will agree. 10/10!

Home Improvement: Mow Better Blues (1991)
Season 1, Episode 2
10/10
Not as Good as the Pilot, But Still Great!
6 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the second episode of Home Improvement. After the insanely exceptional pilot episode, it was really difficult for the writers to make another episode that was just as good right away. Mow Better Blues is a great episode, it's just that it doesn't match the pilot.

So Tim is trying to power up the lawnmower and Mark is watching. Tim explains that this one wrench he has is very special to him and later in the episode Mark is looking at it and accidentally breaks it. Brad and Randy find out that Mark did this and convince him that his parents are going to give him away because of it, just like their previous son, Peter, who of course never actually existed. And of course Brad and Randy would trick Mark like this several more times in the series. Tim finds out about the wrench, comforts Mark and tells him that he would never give him away, and then at the end Tim rides his powered up lawnmower in the backyard, with hilariously disastrous results.

This episode isn't as good as the pilot; it doesn't have as many hilarious lines in it and the storyline isn't as interesting. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great episode, and we can't always have back-to-back episodes that are amazing, it's just not as funny as the pilot. Still, plenty of humor to be had here and even though there aren't as many funny lines in this episode as in the pilot, there are still several quotes that are gems and you'll still be laughing and thinking about them hours after you heard them on the episode! I give this episode a 9/10. It's a nice follow up to the pilot.

The Best Episode of Season 6!
6 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the best of Season 6 and overall one of the best episodes in the series. The hilarity starts from the minute the episode begins and doesn't stop until the credits roll. One of the most memorable scenes in the show's history is in this episode and Tom Poston makes another hilarious guest appearance as a gas station employee.

Tim is named "Car Guy of the Year" and Heidi, Jill, and Tim all go to the ceremony to receive the award. While driving, Tim's car runs out of gas and Heidi goes into labor. They end up at a gas station with a stubborn employee (Tom Poston) where Heidi gives birth in one of the most hilarious and hysterical scenes in the series. Tim delivers the baby while Jill coaches and Wilson gives advice over the phone.

In conclusion, it was a tough decision, but I have decided that this is definitely the best episode of Season 6. The whole episode is hilarious, as usual, but the scene where Tim delivers Heidi's baby is so hilarious that it's literally indescribable and it is definitely the most memorable scene in the series for me! This episode is also unique in that it is the first episode in which Heidi is part of the main storyline, which is cool. I guarantee that when you are done watching this episode, you will agree that it is easily one of the series' best! It is PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!! 10/10!

Home Improvement: Tim 'The Landlord' Taylor (1998)
Season 7, Episode 14
9/10
An Underrated Episode
6 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This mid-seventh season episode of Home Improvement has quite a few hilarious parts in it and is overall a very good episode, like all Home Improvement episodes are. It's not one of the very best episodes in the series, but it definitely has it's usual hilarious moments.

Tim rents out a house to Al after a Tool Time segment they do on the house. Tim gives Al an overly large lease to sign, insinuating to Al that he doesn't trust him. This leads to one of Tim and Al's biggest arguments, leading to Tim wanting to evict Al and Al wanting to sue Tim if he needs to. The reason why Tim gets so mad is because Al forces Tim to fix his house for him because he is the landlord, even though Al can fix the house on his own. And the reason Al is mad is obviously because of the large lease, and because Tim is reluctant to fix the house for him. Tim eventually talks to Wilson as usual, he comes to his senses, and him and Al apologize. There is also a hilarious subplot of Brad and Randy buying and wearing the same shirt and having to decide who gets to wear it on a date with their girlfriends.

In conclusion, this episode has the usual Home Improvement hilarity, but really isn't an extreme standout when thinking of the series' best episodes. I do think that it is very underrated as it seems that a lot of people don't like this episode very much. I loved it, and in my opinion, I think that it is a great episode. Not one of the best, but an average Home Improvement episode, and we all know that an average episode of Home Improvement is still better than every TV episode of every other show ever made combined! This episode gets a 9/10.

Oh No! The Death of Al's Mother! And TONS of Hilarious Jokes About Her!!!
3 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The jokes about Al's mother were always a staple of the series and was part of what Home Improvement was. Without them, it just wouldn't have been the same show. Every episode that had jokes about Al's mother made that episode loads more funny and after watching an episode with those jokes, those were usually the jokes that we remembered most when the episode was over. They were, in one simple phrase, ROTFL hilarious!!!

Well, this is the episode where Al decides to propose to Trudy, and this puts his mother into a shock that kills her. Instead of making this a really sad episode, they made her death lighthearted with tons of jokes to boot. That's right, because this is the end of Mrs. Borland, HI had to finish her life with lots of jokes about her and they were, as usual, HYSTERICAL!!!

I won't say anything more because I don't want to spoil anything. I'll just say that this is definitely a highlight of the final season with loads of humor about Al's mother, which is one of the running gags that made Home Improvement the best show ever! This is also the last episode before the series finale, and they do a great job of preparing for the finale plot. This is a great episode with tons of HI tradition in it. We say good buy to Al's mother with a lot of laughs! This episode definitely deserves a 10/10!

Randy's Departure Episode Is Sad, Yet One Of The Best Episodes Of Season 8.
13 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the episode where Randy leaves for Costa Rica with his girlfriend, Lauren. It is very sad to see Jonathan Taylor Thomas leave the show, but they wrote him out of the series in a very witty way and this is definitely one of the best episodes of the last season.

I won't go into great detail about what happens. I shouldn't spoil that for viewers that haven't seen this great episode. Basically, Jonathan Taylor Thomas is written out of the show when Randy leaves on a year long Costa Rican study program with his girlfriend. Jill doesn't feel comfortable with him going, but she eventually agrees to it. There's still a problem though, and it isn't Jill. I won't give away what the problem is though. Randy does leave at the end of the episode in a sad and hilarious goodbye to not only the character, but the actor as well as this was the last episode he was in as a regular character. He returns later in the season one last time for the Christmas episode.

This is a wonderfully written, emotional send off to one of the show's most loved characters that is packed to the top with loads and loads of hilarity at every turn and it is one of the best episodes of the season. Too bad it ended with Randy leaving. Still, a great, great episode that sent Randy off in a great way. This is the best send off ever, in my opinion, to a character in a TV show in the history of television!

Home Improvement: Whitewater (1998)
Season 8, Episode 1
9/10
Not The Best Season Premiere, But Still Pretty Darn Great!
12 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Whitewater is a unique episode because it features Tim, Jill, Wilson, Al, and Heidi, all 5 adults in the series, together at the same time, something the show basically never did. It had some great humor and showed that the show absolutely was NOT dead entering the eighth and final season.

It's Tim's birthday and, against his will, Jill brings him, Al, Wilson, Heidi, and herself on a whitewater rafting trip to celebrate. Randy leaves to visit Lauren and while Tim and Jill are gone, Brad and Mark try to figure out how to take out a stain on the couch before their parents return.

Overall, this episode wasn't one of the show's best, and wasn't one of the show's best season premieres, but the thing it did show was that it still had TONS of hilarious humor in it entering the final season and that the show wasn't going to fade out in it's final stages. There's plenty of funny lines in this episode that will make you laugh, especially at the end when Tim and co. are in danger of drowning while rafting. Basically an average level episode, but, like all fans of Home Improvement know, an average episode of Home Improvement is still absolutely extraordinary, remarkable, and hilarious!

Home Improvement: The Naked Truth (1995)
Season 4, Episode 19
10/10
The Best Episode Of Season 4!
12 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the best of Season 4 without a doubt and one of the top 5 or 10 greatest episodes in the series!! It uses the age old storyline of two characters seeing each other naked while one of them is in the shower and the other one is about to get in. But, because it's Home Improvement, and they're the best at everything, this episode is BY FAR the best episode in television history concerning characters seeing each other in all their glory!

Tim's brother Marty is over at the Taylor's with his attractive wife Nancy. Nobody is in the house and Tim doesn't know this. He goes upstairs and hears the shower running, thinking it's Jill. So Tim undresses and opens the shower curtain only to reveal Nancy taking a shower! Both embarrassed, they get dressed immediately and decide not to tell anyone of the incident. But as sexual innuendos coincidentally seem to creep from every corner, Nancy finally tells Jill and Marty, making both very angry. But, Tim apologizes to Jill and everything is fine in the end, as usual.

This episode is probably one of Home Improvement's raciest episodes, but the innuendos never, ever get inappropriate and this once again shows that, even when a little more suggestive than usual, the show is still completely appropriate and hilarious!! This episode is SO UNBELIEVABLY HYSTERICAL that it's indescribable just how gut-busting it is. It's one of those "you gotta see it to believe it" things. Basically, this episode is so beyond description that if you haven't seen it yet, you need to see it ASAP. This episode is a defining episode in the history of the series and you haven't TRULY seen the mind-blowing amazingness of Home Improvement if you haven't seen this episode! What are you waiting for? Go watch one of the top 10 episodes in the series!

One of Season 8's Best!
12 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Tim Allen puts on a hilarious performance without hardly any supporting cast members in this episode! He shows just how comically talented he is and it's hilarious to see Tim try to write his book for Binford while home by himself for the weekend.

The main synopsis is that Jill and the kids leave for the weekend and while gone, Tim has to try to write a book for Binford Tools. He obviously gets distracted and has dreams during his sleep of his book being a best seller and getting to be on Jay Leno and Oprah Winfrey's talk shows because of it! Tim goes to Wilson for help and then gets the first few chapters of his book done by the end of the weekend.

Overall, I personally think that this episode is hilarious!! Tim is so puerile and immature and watching him try to stay home by himself for the weekend and write his book is hysterical. The way he gets distracted by such simple things is very funny and Tim Allen should be applauded for his solo performance. He's such a great solo performer that he makes this episode one of the best of Season 8 and even one of the highlights of the series!

Home Improvement: Blow Up (1993)
Season 3, Episode 7
10/10
One of Tim's Biggest Mess-Ups Ever Results In One Of The Show's Best Episodes Ever!!!
9 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Blow-Up was simply PERFECT, FLAWLESS, and BEYOND COMPARE!!! This hilarious episode starts of with an UNFORGETTABLE Tool Time segment where Tim makes a color out of Al!!! You'd have to see it to believe just how HILARIOUS it was!!! The scene then switches to the Taylor home where Tim, Jill, Joe, and Marie go to a dinner at the library in Jill's honor while Al brings the kids miniature golfing. Once the four adults arrive at the dinner, one of the most memorable scenes in the show's history occurs as the picture that Tim picked out of Jill to put up in the hall at the dinner is a HORRIBLY EMBARRASSING driver's license photo. It may have been humiliating for Jill, but it was HYSTERICAL for the audience as we wonder why Tim would put up SUCH an embarrassing picture.

Obviously, when they get home, Jill is furious and storms upstairs while Al and the kids come home, Al very upset as well, but not for that great of a reason. They report that Brad beat Al at mini golfing and Al is a sore loser over it.

Tim apologizes to Jill on another hilarious Tool Time and gets her a new blown up picture of herself that looks a lot better. He even gets all the signatures on it again from all of the dinner attendants. Jill forgives Tim and he then uses the bad picture as part of a mini golf course that he sets up in the backyard where Brad beats Al again, but by Tim cheating for him!

Overall, when Tim makes his biggest mistakes is when the episodes are the most funny and this episode is an absolute jewel in the best TV series ever!!! Basically, I'll just say that this episode was SO MIND-BLOWINGLY HILARIOUS and HYSTERICAL that if you were to choose one episode in the WHOLE SERIES to introduce the show to somebody and show them just how funny it is, this should be one of the episodes in consideration without a doubt!!!

Home Improvement: Up Your Alley (1992)
Season 1, Episode 13
10/10
The Best Episode Of The First Season!!!
9 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Up Your Alley was SO insanely hysterical that it's absurd to even TRY to describe its greatness. It was the 13th episode of the first season and if there was STILL any doubt in anybody's mind that this show wasn't destined for greatness, this would be the episode that would take away all doubt!

The episode starts off with a hilarious Tool Time segment where Tim and Al show viewers tips on dry wall. Then, when Tim gets home that night, Jill reminds him that it's family game night and Tim suggests going bowling. When they get to the alley, Brad and Randy go off to the video arcade and Mark stays with Tim and Jill to watch them bowl. Jill says that she doesn't want to keep score, but when she realizes that she's winning, she starts keeping score herself. Tim gets very embarrassed that Jill's so much better at bowling and when K+B Construction shows up, it adds to Tim's humiliation. Meanwhile at the arcade, Brad and Randy use Mark's help to get back at a bully.

In conclusion, this episode is packed to the brim from start to finish in hilarity! It starts with an uproarious Tool Time and the hilarity just goes non-stop. The bowling competition between Tim and Jill and the arcade battle between the boys and a bully for the majority of the episode make this definitely one of the most gut-busting, side-splitting, riotous, and hysterical episodes in the series and overall edges out a few other spectacular episodes for the title of the best episode of the first season!!!

A Hilarious Show That People of ALL AGES can enjoy!
9 November 2009
Some people may think that only older women can enjoy this show because the four stars of the show are older women. That is completely incorrect though. I'm a 14 year old boy that LOVES to watch this show with my mom and 11 year old brother. These women may be old, but their humor and personalities are that of someone in their 20s-40s!

Dorothy Zbornak (Beatrice Arthur), Rose Nyland (Betty White), Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan), and Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty) are four elderly women, all widows except for Dorothy, who's divorced, who live together in Miami, Florida. While their personalities differ, and this causes many conflicts and arguments between them, they love each other no matter what.

The great thing about this show is that it took a chance by starring four actresses in their mid 50s to 60s and showed that just because you're old, it doesn't mean that life is over and you can't have fun anymore. The humor reaches to all age demographics and the characters each have such distinct, hilarious traits that watching them try to get along is a hoot.

If you're a boy or adult man that feels embarrassed to watch this show, DON'T. It's a pure classic that will never be forgotten in my life and will always be one of my favorite shows! This show proves that hilarity doesn't just come from younger folks, but that it can come from older people just as much!!! Long live The Golden Girls!!! 10 out of 10 EASILY!!!

An Excellent Premiere to the Best Season of the Best Show Ever Created!
4 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Home Improvement is SO AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE that it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to determine the best season of the show! But if I had to choose one of the seasons and call it the best it would be Season 6. There were several of the show's best episodes that season and one of them was the superb season premier! Tim and Al are on the USS Constellation and Tim has some classic mess-ups as usual and barely gets out without blowing the ship up!! At home, Jill gets suspicious that Brad is having sex with his girlfriend leading to her asking Tim to give Brad "The Talk" which is one of the most memorable moments in Home Improvement history!! Overall, a great, GREAT episode with one of the show's classic moments to end the episode starts off the best season of the show with an enormous BANG!!! 10/10!!!

Home Improvement: Pilot (1991)
Season 1, Episode 1
10/10
An Extremely Well Written Start To The Best Show In Television History!!!
4 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Home Improvement is the best show ever. That's completely obvious and goes without saying. The pilot episode was no different and set up all the main plot ideas for the series, just like a great pilot episode is supposed to. Basically, Tim wants to give the dishwasher "more power" and that attitude became one of the main trademarks for the series. Jill disagrees and tells him not to, which also became a regular thing with the series. Tim disobeys Jill, which he did often over the course of the show's run, and the dishwasher blows up. Jill is then extremely mad at Tim and he goes to the Taylor's wise and sagacious neighbor Wilson for help. After that, Jill forgives him and the first episode is over. It's a very simple plot, but set up all of the main running gags and ideas for the show. Even though it might not sound that great, just watch the pilot and you will be hooked INSTANTLY! The banter and barbs between Tim and Jill are hilariously hysterical and much, much funnier and in tune than that of other television couples. They had perfect chemistry! Tim's manly man attitude toward life is hilarious and the way he tries to teach his own sons how to "be a man" is funny, funny, funny. Most pilot episodes are not that great, and you can usually tell when it's the pilot of a TV show when you're watching it. But Home Improvement's pilot was so great that when I first watched it, I didn't even know it was the first episode. That's how amazing it was!!

Not Hilarious, But Give It a Chance!
26 October 2009
This show has been receiving a lot of unfair negative reviews. It's really a shame because it's definitely not as bad as most viewers and critics say it is. It's not hilarious, but, give it a chance because it is getting funnier every episode!

Hank stars the very talented Kelsey Grammar as Hank Pryor, a former CEO of a sporting goods company. When the business went under, Hank obviously lost his job, and his luxurious lifestyle! He now has to move back to his hometown in Virginia and get used to living the normal lifestyle. He has a wife named Tilly (Melinda McGraw) and two kids, Maddie (Jordan Hinson) and Henry (Nathan Gamble).

The show has the typical stereotypes of the hard-to-handle teenage daughter and the kinda dorky little son. The writing is not that great most of the time, but if they improve it and the cast starts getting better chemistry, it is going to be an awesome show! It is starting to show improvement as the last episode was very funny! Plus, nothing with Kelsey Grammar can be that bad! ABC will be making a big mistake if they cancel this! It's only 4 episodes in! Give it a chance! It has to get in a groove and for most shows that takes longer than 4 episodes! This is a good, clean show and deserves to be treated fairly! Most viewers and critics are raving about Modern Family but I think that this show is better! It's not hilarious, but it gives some laughs and, if given time, will get hilarious!

In My Opinion, This Is The Best Show That Will Ever Be On TV
29 June 2009
This is, by far, the best show that anyone could ever watch on TV in my opinion. Tim Allen is an absolutely hilarious comedian and actor and without him the show would have never been created. They chose the perfect actors for all the rest of the characters also. I didn't watch the show when it first aired because I wasn't born yet and then when I was born I would have been to young to understand anything in the show. I am 13 now and I have all of the DVDs and watch them all the time. The show is so creative also because it is able to be laugh-out-loud funny without being inappropriate. You can tell the show was made with the intent for people of all ages, from adults to teenagers to children, to enjoy. The show was simply jaw-dropping in every season and I saw no drop in quality from the earlier seasons to the later ones. If there was a drop it was just very slight in the final two seasons. I could go on and on all day about how this IS THE BEST SHOW EVER IN TV HISTORY. This show leaves every other show in the dust. If I could I would give it a score of INFINITY out of 10. MOST ENTERTAINING AND PURELY AMAZING SHOW EVER MADE. This is a classic show that will be enjoyed still 50 years from now. It is the 8th Wonder of the World!!!! It's Heaven on TV!!!!! Your life is not complete without experiencing the only TV show ever that is a true WORK OF ART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is LITERALLY PERFECT!!!!! YOU ROCK HOME IMPROVEMENT. YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
