The first sex scene was so unrealistic. She leaves her tight dress and padded bra on and yet supposedly climaxes. I asked other women and we all agreed that breasts have to be involved in the getting turned on at the very least. So many movies leave that out, so male oriented.

Very slow paced, fast forwarded through a lot and missed nothing. The lovers did not seem to be in love, just lust and no other connection. Even the lust was boring. There was never a close up of the male lovers face, still have no idea what he looked like. Then it got very grim with the murder of a horse and a man! Yuck!

I found it very hard to follow this movie. Slow moving, out of sync. Who is that character? Is it past or present? I fast forwarded through a lot of scenes that were not necessary to film like long walks and drives. The youngest son, was he ever told of his mom's suicide? Was it a suicide? It made me feel uncomfortable throughout.

The ending in particular was horrible. It just stopped!!! I thought my disk had jumped, but no. there was no end in sight, no hints at what would/could happen. AND there were never ever any ideas about what these very familiar aliens wanted, except to eat us. The NYC skyline shot showed very few ships overhead, a tiny portion of what was over LA. Was this on purpose? I could go on and on, but am glad to see that others have pretty much the same opinions. OK, I see I am required to go on and on. The actors, or was it the writing was uninspired. Why did the women show very little interest in looking through the telescope? That the man with the facial hair was thrown in towards the end did nothing to help the plot (well he did have a telescope).

Get to be the way he was? No background info was shown on him except for the Christian thing (phone call to his wife and looking at the bible). I would have liked to have seen his family life, how he behaved in Hawaii before coming to New York? It was reported at the end of the movie that he thought he was Holden Caufield for two years in prison then became a "Born Again Christian". He's been denied parole a few times and I am glad about this as he is obviously still very sick. I need to have ten lines of text although I have said it all in five lines so what can I do but repeat myself? I would have liked to have been shown how Mark Cahpman became the way he was. What lines from Lennon's songs combined with what lines from the bible told him that he had to kill Lennon? All it showed was the connection he made with the film "Rosemary's Baby" on the same night that he shot John.
