Two Weeks Notice (2002)
Disappointed fan
I enjoy Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant immensely but something about this movie falls flat. I kept wanting to check my watch and that never happens to me at the movies. I'm really easy to please. I think it needed to pick up the pace a little. No chemistry. Won't keep me from trying their future movies though. Probably some bad writing.
Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)
Enjoyed and laughed
I loved the books this was based on and could not wait to see the film. I now own the dvd. Movies never are as good as the books, but this one stands on its own. The casting was terrific. Bridget's parents are funnier in the movie than in the book. This is one of my top ten favorite movies or I wouldn't own it. Good cure for depression gals.
While You Were Sleeping (1995)
Adopt this family...
Next time you are depressed, this is the perfect pick me up. If you like watching the same movies over and over, this is great for that also. The chemistry between the two main characters is outstanding, much better than in this year's Two Weeks' Notice. Laugh out loud and cry out loud.
Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Perfect mood enhancer
I like movies that put you in a good mood. This one does it every time. I like movies with a cozy feel and an atmosphere in the setting that makes me feel welcome and admiring. The house boat, the Christmas beginning, the father/son tactile relationship, it all makes you want to jump in and join the picture. Story and acting is great too.
Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)
Watch it over and over
This is the perfect movie when you are home with a cold and a box of kleenex. It is very sweet, totally predictable, but I never get tired of watching it. I have liked it since I was about 10 years old, so keep that in mind. No suspense, wacky comedy, very cute.
