Very moving, painstaking account of a mother losing her daughter to a violent and senseless murder, and the police investigation that followed. Not for the faint of heart.

Die Hard on a Film Set - Indie Action Comedy Fun
17 January 2022
The immensely talented martial arts phenom Mike Moeller and his team are behind the action scenes (and in front of camera) in this wacky action comedy which plays out like Die Hard on an Indie film set. It's cheap and cheerful, but there are lots of film production in-jokes, and plenty of exciting hand to hand combat to enjoy.

Must See! Uplifting and Fascinating Soccer Documentary
17 January 2022
I'll start off by saying that I have virtually no interest in soccer at all, but I found the historical story behind this documentary completely compelling, and as we follow the small, plucky UK team on what turns out to be the adventure of a lifetime, I became more and more involved. Genuinely a must-see.

Intriguing Dark LA Drama
17 January 2022
The cast are great in this mysterious drama about a band just about to hit the big time in LA, when they start coming apart at the seams. Dean Jagger from the hit TV show "Warrior" gives a superb central performance, and the finale of the film is unexpectedly dark and violent.

This terrific indie horror thriller is written and directed by the very talented John Langridge, who gets enjoyable performances from his game cast. There are some gruesome moments throughout the film, and a genuine build in tension to the climactic finale. A great example of low budget UK indie genre film-making.

Enjoyable Indie Horror
17 January 2022
Had a lot of fun with this one. No spoilers, but the final act of the film is radically different to the build-up and it makes for an exciting change of tone while remaining firmly in the horror space. There are some neat, inventive kills throughout.

Inventive Psychological Horror

Seagull
(2019)
Revenge Drama With A Difference
17 January 2022
Seagull uses a sleepy Kent seaside town as it's backdrop rather than the usual London cityscape, and to good effect. The personal relationships between the main characters in the family are tense and occasionally disturbing, and as the story escalates to the inevitable final showdown you get the unsettling feeling that things are going to go very wrong indeed for all concerned. It's a small-scale independent film with a committed cast, and you can tell that everyone involved gave it everything. Jessica Hynes' character is indeed very different from those we are normally used to seeing her play.
